ive paid 100-150 for wwe/f wrestlemania second row floor seats but hat was back in the day when front row seats went for 300 dollars and you got to keep the nice folding chair you sat in
Everytime ive tried to go to concerts it flops out except the time I went to see the stones at the rose bowl for the voodoo lounge
The most we’ve ever paid for concert tickets would definitley be to see Van Halen a few years ago at Madison Square Gardens. It wasn’t just the cost of the tickets, there was the plane fare and the hotel…given that we travelled from England for it!
Zowks! I thought my $700 for two tix for Cabaret on Broadway (Alan Cummings and Jenn Lawrence) might be the winner. Worth every single penny and I’d love to see it again – but maybe from nosebleed section this time :D.
Milwaukee is the most I’ve paid for a concert – saw The Promise Ring at a reunion show at Turner Hall a few years ago and drove there all the way from Florida because they weren’t playing the south (and since then, around 5 years ago, they have only gotten as far south as Atlanta - once.) Between the driving and the hotel room and the taking a day off from work it was probably close to $1K even though the tickets themselves were only $20 or so.
Looking at tickets for Tom Petty at Wrigley Field and 75% of the tickets are $130 with some cheaper seats in the way back. Last time I saw him, I paid maybe $30 at Northerly Island for pretty decent seats. I’ll be hitting the sale site at 10am this morning though.
Most venues I see artists in are smaller ones (and the musicians less well known) so I’m used to the $20-$30 range. I paid about $100 a pop for a pair of second-hand tickets to see Jenny Lewis a couple months back but we wound up in the 2nd row, right on the center aisle so I’ve got no complaints. Most times I’ve seen her, it was $20 but this was in the Chicago Theater for her big Rabbit Fur Coat anniversary tour instead of some church or small venue.
