Thanks for the reply. I’m generally interested in language and it’s usage. How do you pronounce “bow” in “Bow up and whoa there, jack”? Is it archery bow or ship’s bow? The “whoa there” part was obvious but the “bow up” has peaked my curiosity.

Hey doorhinge. “Bow up and whoa” is “horse-talk.” Pull hard on the reins and the horse bows up. (Pronounced like hair bow, or bowl without the “L.”) Whoa of course is stop. And jack is what I call everybody when my mouth takes off before my brain does.
