I just saw the movie "The day after Tomorrow" and..

Personally I thought it was a really great movie. The movie critics here in Chicago gave it a really bad review saying that it was one of the biggest bombs they’ve seen in a long time. I’m not going to go into detail about it because I don’t want to spoil the plot for anyone, but I personally think its a movie worth seeing (IMHO)

Has anyone else seen it yet? If so, what did YOU think of it?

Sorry Moderators, this should have been opened in the " IN MY HUMBLE OPINION" section, if you’d be so kind as to move it for me, I’d really appreciate it.

  • Will be more careful in the future* :o

I just read Roger Ebert’s review. He gave it three stars.

Well, it really should have been opened in Cafe Society, since it’s about a movie. I just bumped up the thread on this movie that was already there though.

HERE’s a review from some jerk from “Red Eye” newspaper that gives his own opinion. Personally I liked this movie a lot

HERE are some more critics reviews :frowning:

I saw it last night and thought it was a hoot. Not very realistic, no, but it had nifty effects and it was impressive. And it held my attention which is all I paid my money for, really. I went with a few fellow dopers and we had a good time whispering snide remarks to each other during the show.

Here is the only reviewer I trust…

Looks like this is a miss for me.

Our local critic gave it 5/5 stars for being an excellent B movie with great effects. I wouldn’t go into it looking for a in depth plot and great dialouge, but it seems good for pure entertainment value.

Critics are best seen and not heard. (actually, not seen either) Except Jonothan Ross. If he gives it a bad review then I will be :dubious: about seeing it.

It held my attention too, I really liked it because I got into the characters and the story a lot but while I was in the Theatre 1 person said out loud that the ending was “BullShit”.

Made me want to go buy a hybrid vechile, pack my lunch, and recycle my bathwater. But that is just me.

Liked the movie, thought some parts sucked. But many movies but suck-y bits in them.

If, like my husband, you have paranoinas or phobias about the energy crisis/global warming/NAFTA  do NOT see this movie in the theatre–wait until you can do pay-per-view or rental. Hubby was a cringing pile of gagh coming out of the theatre and we had a screaming fight about absolutely nothing just because he was all hyped up and paranoid after the movie. :smack:

The movie may have sucked, but the review ROCKED!

Ahhh, Oddtodd.com, my second favorite work friendly site on the web.

I saw it a few days ago, and enjoyed it.

This movie was sooooooooooo sweet that I want to crap my pants.

I love this movie with all of my body (including my pee pee).
