I’ve had kidney stones twice and both times they started out as what seemed like gas pains which got more severe as the hours passed. Get the hence to a medical practitioner. Now.
This sounds an awful lot like the way my ulcer chose to manifest itself. Instead of the Pepto, try some Pepcid AC. That helped me quite a bit until I wad diagnosed and got on Nexium. And yes, it hurt. It hurt so badly that I could barely breathe, and could do nothing but lie quietly and pray that it would stop soon. It was so severe that I actually blacked out a couple of times.
Horseflesh could be right. I’ve had three separate bouts with kidney stones, but mine didn’t really do like that. Mine were exactly like labor…only no baby at the end of that hell, and actually, worse. If HF’s a guy, then he won’t know that wonderful (heh) feeling, but anyway, it’s bad.
I also second what Caricci said. That didn’t occur to me at the time I posted, but it could be gallstones as well.
Don’t worry about what it could be. Buddy, you’re sick. I hate going to the doctor probably worse than anybody in the world, but if I was having the symptoms you’re having, then I’d haul my butt to the ER right this minute.
If it’s gas…then good. Better to poot in haste, than drop dead in leisure.
This is crazy d, get your aching butt to a doctor.
Gas pains… ummm… pass.
Anything that doesn’t probably requires a professional flashlight.
Gall stones passing. Sigh, on meds for it now. It was happening every 30 minutes or so and lessening each time. No pain at all today. Sorry for the bad mood yesterday every time I thought it went away it came back and just made it worse.
Well, I was thinking that took a lot of gall.
Glad you’re better.
What will they have you do to make sure it doesn’t reoccur? Drink more water?
Change in diet should clear them up.
dorkus? You OK?
Matey, ye’ve got my sympathies. That hurts like a bugger. I’d say being a little snarky is understandable.
[sub]Personally, I took it out on the idiot paramedic/EMT/whatever-he-was who told me I needed to watch my language, whilst in the ER, waiting for someone qualified to do something for me, as I harbored what felt like a rusty knife in my guts.[/sub]
Well, I’m proud to have been the first to diagnose, but sorry you are going through such pain. Good for you that you got it checked. Gall stones only get worse if untreated.
It hasn’t hurt since Saturday. I have to start eating less greasy foods it seems. The doc’s said if it comes back that I should probably get it removed. :eep: I am too young and pretty to have that done. LOL, yeah right.
