The last week or so I have been having heartburn/indigestion after everything I eat. Sometimes it’s like heartburn, and other times it’s like a weird full feeling at the top of my stomach/chest. It seems like I get this after everything I eat, no matter if it’s bland or spicy.
Does anyone else have this? If so, how do you remedy it?
At the beginning of May, I got this pain in my chest that was almost at the center of my chest but a little over to the right. Initially I thought this was really bad heartburn but it kept coming back 5 or 6 times per day and it would last for a few hours. This lasted a little over a week then went completely away.
Near the end of July, this came back again. This time the pain was terrible though, far worse than any heartburn I’d ever had. The last time this happened, I went a week without sleeping (maybe 10hrs total) and I was sick of it so I went to the hospital. THey took a blood test and as it turned out, my liver was inflamed. The next day I had an ultrasound and they determined I had a few Gall stones. When further blood tests showed that now my pancreas was inflamed, they removed my gall bladder.
So the long and short of it is, you could have a gall stone. I’m not a doctor though.
Well, if the pain is just annoying, as opposed to “bad enough to see doctor”, then you can experiment to see if it’s acid reflux. Get some Pepcid or comparable product, take it faithfully, lay off the alcohol and caffeine, and see if it goes away in a week or so.
If the pain is serious or you start seeing blood (fore or aft), then head for the physician’s office.
You are probably at a high stress time of your life. I think that stress and being tense can lead to this indigestion. Just take some antacids or pepto bismal or something.
This might be true. It kind of subsided after I took half a Xanax. I have stress issues most of the time, but it’s never manifested this way. Makes sense though.
Any chance that you might be pregnant? Sometimes the hormones that are released can predispose some women to heartburn and indigestion in the early stages.
I took antacids for reflux for years. Then Prilosec came out, followed by Nexium. God bless the scientist that invented these pills. I would go without almost anything, as long as I had my purple manna from the gods.
If you don’t mind me asking, have you put on some weight recently?
I suffer from heartburn all the time (meaning: a few times a week), but I never did when I was thinner. My doctor confirmed that more fat can mean your stomach has less room to expand, leading to heartburn issues. Nothing horrible, just annoying.
Mind you, don’t take my word for it, go see a doctor and have him examine the symptoms.
