I don’t want to hijack the thread with Scott Pilgrim minutiae, but there’s a scene in the film where Scott is freaking out precisely because Ramona dyes her hair different colors - far from being attracted to her because of it, he’s threatened and put off by it.
He was freaking out because he thought she was fickle and being willing to change something so prominent as her hair color on a whim spelled bad news for a long term gig with her.
Mostly, I base my observation on my inability to describe anything about her character’s personality Scott seems to be crazy about. And coupled with the fact that he blatantly falls for her the instant he sees her leads me to conclude her appearance is what made her amazing.
She can travel through hyperspace. That’s pretty hot.
I loved the first Scott Pilgrim book, and after reading what quite a few dopers had to say about it, I was excited to see the movie.
Until I found out Michael Cera is in it. Did the movie makers even bother to read the graphic novels???
He can’t act. He performs…as that same dumbass in everything he does, and I can’t take it any more. I will not go see this movie.
