A few times for me also…Firefox and Windows 7 here.
I find it mildly annoying, but just use the Back button/arrow to get back to where I was.
Zone Alarm is actually a good product - and as mentioned before, one of the good guys. I have used them before in the past, but actions like this understandably pisses people off and unnecessarily hurts their reputation.
If I weren’t so lazy, I’d report it directly to Zone Alarm.
Perhaps their ad provider is one of those that also serve the porn industry, where you get dozens of unwanted pop-up, new windows/tabs, etc.?
That is not actually not possible. I have no idea why you would think that it’s possible to block all ads. That’s not the way the Internet works. E.g., let me place an ad right here:
“Buy now for just $1,234,456 a lifetime supply of FtG’s brand De-Dopeilizer Cream. Guaranteed to work. Go to FtGRulz!.com now!”
I bet you just saw that ad.
I have all sorts of restrictions set in my browser, plus blocked sites, plus a standard blocked host file, plus …
And of course I see ads. If they are annoying enough, I try to figure out how they are getting by and such and block them. There is NO simple cure for this. (Unless you just stop using the Internet!)
It may not be relevant but after I copied the URL to Notepad when I went “back” to the previous address where I had been looking at “New Posts” the “You last visited” setting had been updated to current time and all the threads that had been marked as ones that were “new” to me, were now looking as if I had read them.
Sent another note to the QC folks at our major ad provider; I’ve gotten this redirect several times myself. I sent them the URL above - thanks for that. We’ll see.
