So I go home to take the PCAT almost 6 weeks ago. I’ve been sweating my balls off waiting for the damn results to come in, and today they finally did. I checked the mail, and there’s a letter from Harcourt something something in there. I kind of started shaking and my heart started racing. So I call the BF: “How far away are you? I want you to be here when I open them in case I pass out!” I wait the 10 minutes (because I’ve already waited more than 5 weeks! What’s 10 more minutes?)
I open them: I got a 98. I took the letter to my pharmacy cow-orkers to gloat (they’ve been eagerly awaiting my results for weeks also). Now if only there were a standardized test I could take to get my GPA up!
Wow! 98. Thats REALLY good. I only got a 92 when I took the PCAT last year, and I thought that was good. How is your GPA? And what pharmacy schools are you planning on applying to? (Please don’t apply to my schools )
I actually barely have a 3.3. I’m planning on applying to the one in Little Rock, because it’s here, and cheap. My original plan was to apply to the one in Chicago, but after hearing about how bad out-of-state tuition is, and how much harder it is to get into out-of state schools, I’ve basically resigned myself to Little Rock. That, and I’m an hour closer to my parents.
Your GPA is a little low, but your great PCAT score should help you. I have a 3.6 GPA at my current school, but due to going to college right after high school just because it was expected, I have a 3.4 overall. I was put on the wait list at my school of choice (Mercer in Atlanta) last year. But I believe I’ll get in this year.
