I kind of love Kamala Harris

I think Trump is a venal horror show and, while Biden has been an exceptional president, I found his performance at the debate truly unsettling. So I was happy when he stepped down, if a little nervous about the next steps.

I didn’t expect to love Kamala but after seeing excerpts from her tonight I really do. She’s got grace, humor, and style: I loved how warmly and sincerely she honored Joe Biden, how clearly she talked about her experience as a prosecutor — she “knows Trump’s type” — how credible she is as a supporter of women’s rights. I love how her sharpness and kindness contrast with the mean-spirited schlubs on the GOP ticket.

Maybe this would be better in politics and elections but it’s not really anything high-minded, just sharing some personal surprise and delight.

She did good.

I dislike her (such as her stance on marijuana or keeping prisoners locked up past early-release date for the sake of using them for labor), but she will absolutely crush Trump.

I have never seen a 400-electoral-vote landslide in my lifetime (well, technically, Bush Sr. did it not long after I was born but that doesn’t really count,) but I’ll get to see it in November.

That was not her-

Harris, for her part, told BuzzFeed News two months after the arguments were made on her behalf, that she was “shocked” by the argument, telling the publication she was looking into it.

Asked about the case this week, Harris’s presidential campaign said she took action.

“As she said at the time, Senator Harris was shocked and troubled by the use of this argument. She looked into it and directed the department’s attorneys not to make that argument again,” said spokesman Ian Sams. “Her office, on behalf of the state corrections’ department, then came to the table with the plaintiffs’ representatives to negotiate an agreement, which the court subsequently approved, that led to an expansion of the 2-for-1 credits.”

She’s has truly stepped up.

Come out punching.

I just hope the lazy Democrats can keep up the energy and donations coming in.

OK, I stand corrected.

More grace and style!

We’ve got more to learn about her but I think you might be right about her path to victory.

Maybe I’m just dreaming, but the phrase “New Camelot” keeps crossing my mind.

We’ll have to see how the ticket, platform, and convention go.

Yes I was very impressed by her speech. The last 4 years seasoned her. She looked presidential. I would have never used that term for her four years ago.
