I know I shouldn't but this has been bugging me all day

Eh? One minute flyboy claims she explicitly answered a question - not the case. Now you’re saying that it’s obvious that 3 carbs == 2.9 grams of carbohydrates?

I don’t agree with either viewpoint. Sure, Jjimm has been honest enough to say he didn’t read Tech’s post. Well I did, and as I don’t spend that much time on diets I thought it was a valid question, and certainly not worth a pitting.

Definitely not worth a pitting.

It happens all the time. People are participating in 10 threads simultaneously, and they just skim. I myself have just had to say “you didn’t read my OP”.

No biggie.

An overreaction? No never, why I’ve never seen it happen before

The only truly relevant question is, how bad does this new beer suck?

True, a Pitting is a bit much, but sometimes the little things can seem pretty irritating from time to time.

BTW, I know a person who tried it at a promotional, didn’t have more than a sip or two before setting it down and walking away…

Well clearly a mild irritation to some is a huge big deal to others.

But no biggie.

You missed one relevant question - if you’re trying to lose weight, why the hell are you drinking beer of any kind?

Gary, I admit I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, so I may be missing something. What I’m reading is this question:

does “carbs” mean “grams of carbs”

soon after a post which says

“grams of carbohydrates”

It seemed obvious (explicit) to me, anyway.

Please, don’t misquote. The two phrases compared were “3 carbs” and “2.9 grams of carbohydrates”

You really don’t think that checking the two are the same is a fair question?

I’ve been drinking beer for the past three months in conjunction with a low-carb diet and I’ve managed to lose 24lbs so far.

So I’m glad to hear there are only “3 carbs” per bottle, even though the likelihood of being able to get it in Ireland is approaching nil.

What’s the alcoholic content, then?

I’m not deliberately misquoting. I should have said what I’m interpreting rather than reading.

And no, I don’t really think that checking the two is a fair question, and I’m guessing, after reading jjimm’s first post here, that he wouldn’t have posed the question if he’d read techchick’s post.

But I will concede your point… apparently the two can be construed differently.

Now jjimm stop teasing. You’ll blow someone head up

Laughing my ass off, as I run for cover.

Unthinkingly, I just did this to check the accuracy of your representation of the sound made. Just as my frigging boss walked past. Do we have an “curled up and died” smilie?

FWIW, you probably need some “l” 's in there as well…

I challenge this. “brbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbrb” means

be right backbe right backbe right backbe right backbe right backbe right backbe right backbe right backbe right back

That makes about as much sense as asking someone why they’re breathing.

Beer: It’s not just for breakfast anymore.

Waaaaah, waaaaah, waaaaaah.

I get ignored so often on the boards, it’s a wonder I even try anymore.

Except I’m such a blabbermouth, and so in love with myself, I just keep posting and posting and posting anyway.

I agree with Techchick 100 %w/v. How more clearly can you state that a drink has 2.9 grams of carbohydrate per 12 oz serving? The person who questioned her on this was asking a stupid question (and yes, there is indeed such a thing - a question that has already been answered is a stupid one). And if people can’t be bothered to read the whole thread before responding, then maybe they should do us all a favour and not bother responding either. And some of us are hypoglycemic and feel much better when we eat and drink low carbohydrate food - it doesn’t always have to be about losing weight. And that guy that cut me off this morning - you’re on my list too.

Whoa-- techchick

[scouse]Calm down, calm down![/scouse]

I don’t see what has set you off about this-- k2d’s post seemed like a bit of harmless echolalia more than an ignoring, and I can understand jjim’s need for clarification… “x has 3 carbs” just sounds weird – is it a regional thing limited to non-metric countries? What’s up with that? It makes about as much sense as pulling up to a full-service station and asking the attendant for “fifteen unleadeds.” If anything, it seemed to refer to the astonishingly (by doper standards) mangled OP. (I know you were just all beery, Dave. We still love ya.)

Anyway, relax. Have a beer. You’ll feel better.

That I skimmed a reply in a thread does not indicate that the question is stupid. I had read the answer and still asked the question, then I would agree with you. But since this isn’t the case, bite me.
