My wife was unable to breast feed and felt terrible. It has helped a bit that the latest research suggests that in the long term, formula fed babies and breast fed babies show absolutely no statistically significant differences in 10 out of 11 important outcomes. The 11th was a very slight increase in asthma.
The entire “breast is best” movement appears to be based on confounding variables that have nothing to do with breast milk itself.
