I know why they call him Grimace

Today at lunch as I was enjoying that rare American delicacy the Chicken McNugget, I was playing the games that were on the food tray paper mat. One of the games was match the character to the food they like. You know, the Hamburglar goes with the hambuger; the Fry Guys with the fries; Grimace goes with the shake, etc. For 30 years I’ve wondered what the connection was between Grimace and shakes. He looks kinda like a lump of ice cream, but the name eluded me. The Hamburglar has the item in question in his name, as do the Fry Guys. Ronald, is well…a scary clown who spends too much time at McDonalds and plays with children. But Grimace??? Why would such a negative name be attached to a tasty desert type item (for the record, I rarely eat at McDonalds but their shakes are okay). For 30 years I was puzzled. Then, as I sitting there eating my McNuggets, it hits me. Grimace…OOOOOHHHHHH!!! It’s the face you make while trying to enjoy that tasty desert like substance called a shake. The shake is so thick that as you try to suck the shake through the straw your face becomes a grimace :smack: My world is complete now, I have nothing further to learn. Thank you very much. Then again, I have never claimed to be the sharpest tack on the board and may very well be the last person on the planet to figure it out.

It’s not just that the Fry Guys like fries, they are fries. So how is this not cannibalism?

It’s even more sinister than this…

No, they’re not. They’re blobs with stick legs.

Actually, he was originally called “Evil Grimace” and was supposed to be a bad guy. But probably someone complained about the “evil” part.

I just came in here to say…

STABBLE STABBLE STABBLE!

I always thought it was because he was the same shape as a certain uncomfortable sex toy.

Thank you for making the day I decided to swear off fast food even more surreal.

I thought it was because of the face you get when you suck the shake too fast. You know, brain freeze.

Thank you, Redfrost. Now I can sleep at night.

Worth it simply for the last paragraph:

That’s funny!

I thought about that after I posted it but they advertise it as Triple Thick. So maybe it reflects the whole experience

This post has been…

Oh crap, not again!
