Especially whatever the hell the ‘Regular Exclusive Blend’ from 7-11 is. I like nice, cheap, black coffee (with sugar, but not too much.) As long as it ain’t decaf. Or Starbucks.
Decaf? Pooh.
Starbucks? Pooh.

The most important appliance in my apartment? The coffee maker with a timer. Some say the water goes flat overnight, resulting in a cup of coffee that’s not as good.
I say to them: To have coffee awaiting me upon my rising is a good thing. It draweth me out of mine bed and leadeth me into the kitchen. I stumble not, nor do I fall as I enter the shower. Verily, the hot caffeinated beverage that awaits me upon my rising is a good thing, a godly thing, and preventeth further injury upon my body.
Yea, though I drinketh much coffee, I consume not the Starbucks. For it is nasty and too far from home. I buyeth not mine coffee from such places, nor do I consume the beverage the dining hall doth provide. For such are blasphemous to the name of coffee, and will not be consumed by mine body.
Ok, so I’m a little bored. Not bored, so much as…avoiding completing this lab assignment that I don’t completely understand.
Beeneth there, Lsura, doneth that.
Charbucks coffee is gross but I think 7-11’s coffee is vile, too.
This weekend I made Trader Joe’s East Meets West coffee on Saturday morning and Trader Joe’s Bay Blend on Sunday morning. Freshly ground coffee (cream, no sugar) is one of life’s nicest pleasures.
[aside] I don’t know about you but I do find being addicted to caffeine to be a tad annoying sometimes. It’s a pain in the ass if I have something to do on the weekends and can’t brew/get coffee right away. Those headaches are a bitch! [/aside]
Amateur.
Dunkin’s has just about the best coffee $1.50 can buy, but try finding one outside of New England. In Massachusetts, there’s a stretch of secondary road that’s fabled to have no less that 36 Dunkin’ Donuts in as many miles. Everything else they sling stinks, but the coffee is decent, cheap, and dependable - the hallmark of a satisfying cup o’ joe.
BTW, you think Starbuck’s is bad? Ever have a coffee from McDonalds? Egad! It’s as hot as molton lava and tastes like pee-pee (not that I’d know what pee-pee tastes like, but you get the idea).
Nothing wrong with Starbucks, even if it’s a bit weak. Good coffee is strong enough to stand on. And people who put anything in coffee should be sent to a remote desert island with nothing but water to drink.
Anyone who can drink coffee from McDonald’s, Dunkin’s or 7-11 is clearly polluting it heavily, or has had all of the tastebuds burned from their mouths.
But that’s just my opinion.
[hijack]Did you get a new coffee maker yet, Homebrew?[/hijack]
I’ve ordered a new burr grinder. I’ll keep the Krups for brewing as long as it survives.
I have a Bunn restaurant coffee maker. The cold water is piped in through a filter. I use mostly Seattle’s Best Post Alley blend or Millstone Fog Cutter. The coffee maker starts every morning at 3:40 am and is ready when I arise at 4. At that time my vacuum bottle and coffe mug are filled, the bottle for at work and the mug for on the way to work. I clean the maker with vinegar and hot water at least once a month. I will not drink the crap that most restaurant pass off as coffee, it is swill. I only drink better quality beers when I indulge, coffee is the same.
Note: My wife tried to slip decaf on me once. She didn’t think I would notice. She will never try it again. Her life depends on it.l
