I like rice

and most chinese food, and a lot of fish, but not shellfish. And I like steak, and chili, and pork, but not peppers or greanbeans. And corn is good. Thank you for your time.

Rice is good, especially with orange chicken to go with it…god I love that stuff!

…from my head down to my legs.

< sorry, that was the first thing that popped in my head when I saw the title >

Rice is the business. If I could get a rice dispenser, kind of like the ones they have on shipping docks to dispense styrofoam peanuts, I’d never eat out again.

Wild rice is awesome!

It’s great, see, we have a chinese teacher living with us, and she taught me how to cook that sticky rice! It’s really easy, actually, anyone wanna know how?

I’d like to know how.

Actually, I’d rather learn how to get a Chinese teacher to live with me and cook the sticky rice. If she/he could come equipped with some Eastern secrets on cleaning carpet, that’d be a nice bonus.

I’m Japanese. We eat rice with practically every meal. I don’t think it’s because of a culture thing, but I’ve never gotten bored with it. Maybe it’s cuz it goes well with everything, from Chef Boyardee Mini Ravioli to miso soup.

I love that Rice-a-Roni wild rice. mmmmm

Well, because you asked so nicely, and because it’s midnight and I don’t have anything better to do, I’ll tell you.
First, you put as much rice in the pot as you want. Then, you put in water so that the water level is twice that of the rice (ex: if the rice is 1 inch from the bottom of the pot, the water should be 2.) Put the pot on a burner, boil the water off. When there’s no more water, the rice is ready.
To answer the other question: Move to a down that has a teacher exchange program, and then apply to house one. They pay $400 dollars a month, and your expected to do things with them (like go to a museum and movies and such.) The one who lives with us now is a very cool person. Aside from teaching me to cook chinese food, she’s also taught me a bit of chinese, and often cooks good stuff

Also, rice pilaf is great

White sticky rice – mmmmm, manna from the gods.

A bit of trivia: In Japanese, the word “gohan” is synonymous to both “cooked rice” and “meal.” That is because the rice is the central focus of the meal; everything else is just condiments, morsels to add flavor or texture to the rice.

Do you know, before I served it to him with rice my best friend had never had soy sauce before in his life???

I love most food, except:

  1. Meatballs.
  2. Liver.
  3. A certain other meat that shall remain nameless.

This comes from boarding school, where I had to eat a lot of yucky stuff.

I love rice. Especially vegetable egg foo yung
and gravy on vegetable fried rice. My favorite
meal.

Vegetable fried rice with tomato sauce and/or
vegetarian chili on it is good too.

I don’t think I’ve ever gone more than 24 hours without eating rice. I’ve got one of those monster sized rice cookers and use the heck out of it, best $150 I (well, my mom) ever spent.

My favorite dish is rice, kimchee, fish, and seaweed, but I’m pretty open to any other kinds of rice dishes. I adore basmati rice and curry. The only rice I don’t like is that nasty Minute Rice and Rissoto(sp?).

Mmmmm! Sticky rice with nothing on it! Eaten with chopsticks!

My daughter and I have been working on a big bag of Basmati rice that my boyfriend bought for us. We love the stuff, smells like popcorn when you cook it. I also love Jasmine but have to drive to a Asian market to find it in any quanity larger than one of those little specialty boxes. We eat a lot of thrown together stuff like stir fry. But our favorite is chili chicken. Chicken with peppers, onions, garlic, tomatoes, chili, cumin, red pepper over rice.

Needs2know

There’s a rockin’ Thai-Chinese place in Hollywood that serves fried brown rice. It’s the best dish I’ve ever tasted. Every new Chinese place I go to, I ask if they can do it, but they never can.

I absolutely HATE rice. I like most foods, but I just despise rice. I am a mashed potatoes and gravy person.

In the immortal words of Brak:
“I like pork!”

OK, that was way too obscure. Sorry.
