Now keep in mind that I work at home so I can do anything, anytime with out regard to an employer. However, I do enjoy Saturdays.
I get to watch cooking shows on PBS all day. (For those that don’t know me, I don’t have cable so this is a weekly thing for me.) Food, I am obsessed with food. I am amazed I can actually walk because I think about, talk about and dream about food all the time.
Usually I get to talk on the phone with my best friend. We chat all week, during the day, on MSN but it’s just not as nice as talking to her directly. Her dumb-ass husband has been living there again so I haven’t been able to talk to her today. I am sad.
Anyhow, people are off doing things so I can actually get the SDMB to load with little effort. This pleases me much.
I don’t know what else, but there’s something about Saturdays that I have always enjoyed.
What about you?
Saturdays are definitely a day of wonderment.
Usually, that’s my day for household projects I couldn’t get to during the week - tidying up the bedroom, baking (I love to bake, but never get any time for it anymore since I started working more), and catching up on a good book. Right now I’m reading Marion Zimmer Bradley’s The Mists of Avalon.
Great book. So much better than the TNT movie.
Generally, I try to avoid the TV as much as possible. You can lose hours of yourself on that thing!
The best is when you take Friday off, then you wake up the next day thinking it’s Sunday, but-- SURPRISE!-- it’s only Saturday!
Happy
Actually, you can get much the same result if you stay out late on Friday night. Because your Friday was so full, it seems like you’ve already had your Saturday, but–surprise!–you haven’t!
As far as getting the SDMB to load quickly, I had boatloads of trouble this morning, but that’s more than likely my ISP’s fault.
'Course, since I’m currently unemployed, one day is pretty much like another, except that on weekend nights, I have this vague feeling that I should be out doing something if I’m not (like this weekend). Hmm…
