I Like The Bush Administration

Hey, it was Dubya who got Osama to sing, “Oh, what a friend we have in Jesus…!”

We already have Sam Stone representing the “Subversive Canadians who support Bush to hasten the downfall of the USA and allow Canada to ascend to supremacy” bloc, thankyouverymuch.

*wipes away a tea

Let’s go start our own party. We’ll call it RR Party; Real Republicans.

I’m not a vet, though. I hope that will be OK.

I’m not sure I get it now.

Dammit, Jim - sorry, I never get to say that - Powell was a distraction. There was never any plan except the Rumsfeld plan; they threw Powell out there to quiet a few critics.

The closest I have got to an established definition of what I politically believe in is the old short live but brilliant Bull Moose Party of Theodore Roosevelt. Being a vet is not required at all. I feel Like Rudy Giuliani despite some faults come closest to my ideals. I can still live with McCain and several moderate Democrats like Mark Warner would work.
Just today, Rudy challenge the Right wing Republican Party with this gem:

Marley23 I have heard that about Powell before, but it seem like he at least had an agenda and desire to build a coalition even if Cheney & Rumsfeld never had any intention to give him the chance to work on it. Of course, I might be blindly loyal to a republican leader I actually respect and like from the moderate side of the party.

Jim

McCain/Warner 2008!

McCain is not without his flaws; he was a member of the Keating Five, after all. I like him, though. What Bush/Rove did to him was dirty. Just plain dirty. From a purely political-strategist viewpoint, however, it was necessary.

Anyway, I often threaten to leave my party. I never do, though. Where will I go? I’d rather drink Sanka then be a Democrat–and as a gal who loves her coffee, that’s a big deal. The term ‘independent’ has been tainted so much, what with ultra-right wingers claiming it.

I know the following is immature, but I’ve little time for anything else and I often find myself saying it when it comes to today’s politics: Everyone’s stupid!

Congratulations for buying into the GOP’s propaganda machine.

(And whatever you do, don’t read about those Republicans in Kansas who are fed up with the GOP and switching sides)

I think you just answered your own question there, sparky. :stuck_out_tongue:

And a hearty congratulations to you for being a condescending ass. How’s that working out for you?

I’m not buying into any propaganda machine, Republican or otherwise. I claimed my political association (Republican) before I was old enough to vote. I’ve never liked what the Democratic party stood for, when viewing the platform as a whole, that is. I don’t buy into all this by-partisan bullshit. I’m not unwilling to vote Democrat, either, I just don’t want to claim them for my political association.

Hey, if you register as a Republican but vote Democrat I’m cool with that.

Yes, the GOP is dead-set against Sanka, the bastards.

…aaaaanywaaaay,

I got a long wanted reel to reel tape machine yesterday, only just got around to looking at it today.

The old Bang & Olufsen Beocord 2400 was the last true high end reel to reel machine they made(they did a couple of other for a very short time but these are definately not the same standard), and I now have the 2-track version along with this latest 4-track version.

As you would expect of a 35 year old machine, it needs some work, bulbs replacing, a take up reel clutch needs replacing, can you believe that someone cut up a bit of old carpet to stick under the reel to act a friction drive disc ?

It had also suffered a little in the shipping, I’ve repaired a few bits and bobs, and tried it out, it works and its now a lot cleaner than it was.

It’s getting a bit late now so I’ve decided to leave it until later, but it’s going to be a good one, I’ve seen them sell for over $350, and then there’s the cost of shipping too, so mine at less than half that is a bit of a bargain, but not a bad investment for a machine of that age.

How have all you folks been doing ? anyone got anything nice throught the mail just lately, please share…

I’d like to see McCain/Powell, they’d bury anybody the Dems could send up.

This is a total pet peeve of mine. The only thing that makes various third parties inviable is that everybody thinks that they’re inviable. If people voted for them, then they’d have a shot.

Orange Shag? That’d be Way Keen Lookin!

I like coffee,
I like tea

I’m surprised no one has done that yet!

Finn: What would you say to McCain/Rice? That’s a distinct possibility-- I doubt Powell is available for VP. I think a McCain/Rice ticket would be hard to beat. Or, we could try Clinton/Gore again? H. Clinton, that is!

I would be really interested to know what it is you think the Democratic party stands for, you know, when viewing the platform as a whole. Also, what is this by-partisan bullshit that you don’t buy into?

I must say, casdave, after this OP, I have to call yours the most apropos response.

Here’s to several hundred hours of happy listening.

I’m Canadian. Were I American, I’d’ve cheerfully voted Gore in 2000 and grudgingly (because he’s such a dork) for Kerry in 2004. In fact, thinking back over all the American Presidential elections that have taken place since I turned 18, I’d’ve voted:

Bush41 over Dukakis (winner)
Clinton over Bush 41 (winner)
Clinton over Dole (winner)
Gore over Bush43 (loser)
Kerry over Bush43 (loser)

So it’s obvious - I’m okay, but Americans have gotten dumber recently.

Good Lord! Did you get as far in that article as this bit?

So why is this woman in the senate instead of at home cooking and pumping out babies?

Because all of those things apply to OTHER people. It’s a very rare ideologue who actually assumes that they themselves will have to obey the rules they want to set in place…
