Telecommuting day, which means the TV is playing in the background. TCM just had a preview of Jason And The Argonauts, which reminded me of Steve Reeves (who wasn’t in that particular film).
My grandfather was, for a time, the foreman on Steve Reeves’s ranch. We went to visit one time when I was very small. Reeves was married to a Polish woman named Aline Czartjarwicz. She was huge! Or so she seemed when I was a short fellah. I remember her as being tall, blonde, and pretty. I remember that she had an accent. I can almost remember what she was wearing. In my mind I see her in jeans and a blue-and-white checked blouse. She was very nice, and wanted to feed us.
It’s weird, the things that come to my mind.
Reeves was married to Aline Czartjarwicz from 1963 until her death in 1989. I found a picture of her online.
