I loathe yield signs

Yes, I know it’s personal, but please try to be level-headed about it. And it’s not about the British, that’s just the first page I found with a clear and relevant image. Obviously, he didn’t “invent” or popularise the inverted triangle, because that was around when he was a kid. Maybe, yes, he popularised the use of the particular word on the sign. If so, I’d be interested to know if the British ‘give way’ version was earlier, later, or completely independent. It’s also possible that he merged the use of separate symbols and words into a single sign.

And urban myths didn’t originate on the internet.

Wolfan , I don’t drive a sports utility vehicle. To be exact I drive a mid sized pickup. It’ must me my dumb luck that I’ve never been in an accident in the 18 years I’ve been driving. That only counts in forward though. When I’m in reverse all bets are off. Thanks for assuming that I’m a drunk with an SUV though. Close.

The pick-up was my second guess. I didn’t call you *a * drunk, but rather implied that you *were * drunk at the time you wrote that OP. Its’ the only excuse for the clarity of it. That or plain dumbassitude.

I’m driving home tomorrow so I probably won’t be online much this coming week. Hopefully some dumbfuck in a pick-up won’t run me off the road in an attempt to shave 5 seconds for his drive-time. If I had a nickel for every bad driver in a pick-up I saw in my area… I’d blame it on the proximity to Kentucky*, but most of them have Ohio plates.
*Just teasin’ you, KY. But seriously, someone is broadcasting bad driving waves over the Cincinnati area and the pick-up drivers seem especially susceptible to them.

Oh, nothing. But I’m used to them; I’ve been around them as long as I’ve been driving. But everytime I’m around someone seeing them for the first time, I get a “What the fuck?” from them.

Black Train Song will probably freak out and start killing people if meters ever make it to his area.

Wolfian , I think I like you. Have a good holiday and be safe out there on my roads.

I had almost forgotten about “fucko off.” I still miss that guy sometimes. He really was wild.
