I LOOOOOVE my king-sized bed - what do YOU sleep in?

King size waterbed. Wood canopy with grapevine wreath, dried flowers, and tiny white lights wrapped around the entire top parimeter (the white lights give a very soft glow - like candle light). The bottom part of the the canopy has peach colored gauze draped over the wood planks. Candles on the headboard shelves.

VERY romantic!

As for the bed, the water is warm and isn’t full so I sink in, lots of pillows and a couple of warm quilts. The cool air and warm bed is heaven! Even better when I have company.

In fact, I think I will go back to bed now.

Just moved both of my cats over to the Raven’s house, so now we’re all four sleeping in his queen-sized bed. Five pillows, big comfy comforter. A cat under my feet, a cat in my armpit, and a Raven at my back works really well for good sleeping.

A broken worn-out metal futon with a mattress that’s flatter than a pancake. It’s also made me a cripple at the tender age of 28.

Riiiiiiiight…

Same here, I don’t even own a bed anymore. I sleep on a couch, pretty damn comfortable. Wouldn’t trade it for a bed.

I also have a quilted pillow top king sized bed. It’s on a metal frame and I don’t know about it’s …durability as there has been precious little chance to put it through its paces;)

A combination of flannel and tshirt sheets with two, count 'em TWO down comforters! Oh yeah it’s mighty comfy, a little desolate at the moment, but the space is there for future expansion:)

King sized waterbed (what else?)with a waveless mattress. If you cut a cross section it looks a firm foam rubber core wrapped in dacron and anchored to the top & bottom of the mattress. It weighs a ton fully drained. I bought the super plush mattress cover as that is the secret to a nice comfy waterbed IMHO. That and a moderated temperature about 85 or so.

Down comforter that’s about 10 years old. It’s the perfect weight and I’ve never found another to replace it. I just cover it with a nice brushed cotton duvet cover and no one has to know what it looks like under there.(my secret shame)

2 king sized pillows with fancy schmancy shams that look nice but too uncomfortable to actually sleep on. 2 down pillows and 1 feather “face” pillow. My beloved can’t nap during the day without a pillow to cover his face.

The headboard is oak, about 3 1/2 feet taller than the mattress with tiny swivel lamps, 2 large drawers–perfect for those items you like to keep within arms reach, phone jack, electrical outlet, several cubby holes, 2 compartments with doors, and a long shelf area where I keep my trinket box collection.

Of course I sleep nude.

Queen-sized bed and box spring on a metal bed-store frame (no posts, no pillars, no headboard, no nada).

When I lived in my condo, I had the boxspring right on the floor and Iiko Puppy-Dog Boy slept on the bed with me. I moved back in with the 'rents and now the faithful companion sleeps on the floor in the rec room and I sleep upstairs. A cheap quilt, a quilt from Ikea with a cover, and now a fleece throw from the soon-to-be-closed-forever I Goldberg’s in Cherry Hill.

When I move out, I think the faithful companion is still going to be sleeping on the floor.

King-size.

Of course I am forced to share it with Michelle, so I’ve recently become intrigued by the concept of the Extra King Size, which I’ve seen in a few places. But a kingsize pretty much allows for two people to sleep either together or separately. We had a double on holiday for a while and though we slept fine (both being capable of sleeping in a ditch full of crap if convenient), it was markedly cramped.

Sleeping alone in a kingsize is fantastic. I am of course talking purely about selfish comfort here. I personally can’t really sleep while in contact with Michelle, but it’s sure nice to have a warm wife to grab if a nightmare drops in.

I don’t know how you can sleep on a couch. I just can’t do it. I don’t have a problem sleeping on a reclining chair or a regular chair and an ottoman. But if I try to sleep on a couch, I can’t do it.

California King chest bed with a Felicity Firm mattress and a bookcase headboard. Heaven!

Queen bed, four pillows, etc

Had a Cal King for awhile, loved it, but far too big for my bedroom, when (if) I ever build my dream home, it will have another California King.

We’ve got a queen-sized bed. The mattress and boxspring sat on the floor until last summer–MIL thought that it was scandalous that we were “sleeping on the floor” (hardly–darn things are thick enough these days), so she bought my husband a bed frame for his birthday. It’s got wheels–ooooh! ;). We used to have a double–you’re right, that six inches makes a world of difference.

We are currently looking to buy a house. My husband and I have dubbed one of the houses we have looked at “The Orgy House” because, among other things, it featured this huge bed in the master bedroom. I think that it was really two double beds pushed together–perhaps two queen beds! They had two matching bedspreads layered on top of each other to cover it (beats special ordering, I guess). There was room for four pillows side-by-side with space between them.

Damn, now that’s a bed! Our bed would have just looked so puny there in comparision.

I’m at college, so I have the usual dorm bed with a long matress. Well, not so usual, as this is a squeacky bed.

Back home I have a twin. It is big enough for me, but not for the 2 small pillows, the quilt, the baby blanket, and the stuffed animals that are on top of it.

Same here. I sleep on the top with my sister at the bottom. Considering how cramped it is, I have to say I get to paste the walls and the ceiling with my stuff this way. it’s worth it!
Another good thing. It’s nicely hard with a wooden board and a thin mattress. Too soft beds make me uncomfortable. But then again, maybe it’s tradition here…

And in the summer, if you keep the heater off and shove the sheet over to enjoy the nice cool mattress… (Used to sleep on a full-sized waterbed, but the heater broke. Thank goodness I was living in Hawai’i at the time, and didn’t need a warmed up bed.)

Currently, I’m on a super-single futon that’s been compressed into a hard, dense mass. (Just the way I like it!) The futon itself is resting on the CoffeeTableFromHell[sup]tm[/sup]. However, once I get around to buying it, I will be sleeping on a full-sized mattress, resting in a vintage iron bedframe that I’ve restored.

Pillows: two body pillows, two regular pillows.
