I love and hate menopause.

There are many things to hate about menopause but, man, I love when I miss a period! I’ve missed 3 in the last two years and what a treat.

It was my birthday a few days ago and I had reservations at a spa that included the hydropath. My period was late, late, late and I was getting worried that it would show up right when I’d be spending the day in my bathing suit but it didn’t! Now, it seems I’m going to skip it altogether!

That makes up a teeny, tiny bit for when I have two in one month :smack:

So, so ready to be celebrating with you, but not quite there yet. Just slightly more irregular than usual, extra-crampy and super-grumpy every other month (I guess I pissed off or used up one but not both of my ovaries?), and were those really hot flashes? I’m not sure.

I’m on Tranexamic Acid for Menorrhagia because, when I do get my period, I just about bleed out. I go through one ultra tampon and an ultra pad in 30 minutes. The Tranexamic Acid has been nothing short of life-changing. I only have to use 2 or 3 tampons a day and one regular, thin pad for backup, which lasts all day.

I’m totally on board with the no period thing, but the hot flashes suck.

I’m male but I can agree with that one. My cancer medication is a testosterone blocker. Besides leaving me much more tired than I’d like, the hot flashes are the worst. When it was still cool out, I’d wake up in he middle of the night having sweated through everything including the sheets.

Turns out I have probably always had a minor form of epilepsy, menopause has turned me in to New Zealand or 50s rock’n’roll.

Hard thing to love

You could try soy isoflavones. I figured out they’re the most active ingredient in the more expensive herbal compounds. They’re pretty inexpensive and saved me so much misery! I didn’t even know I no longer had hot flashes until one day I wondered and stopped taking them. Gone! It took about a year and a half after my surgical menopause.
