That’s a big improvement over my idea! 
When the artist himself acknowledges it’s horrible he should not have taken a check in the first place, let alone charge to fix it.
On the plus side, they may make some money back selling it to a haunted house.
It reminds me of the lizard monster Captain Kirk fought in Arena.
Nope, it’s totally a weeping angel. The resemblance is so striking I think the sculptor must have intended it.
Revived the thread to post this NPR story. The new sculpture is only shown from the side, but seems a wee bit less horrifying to me.
