Seriously, Yikes!!! I agree with the poster who said don’t have the original artist fix it, find somebody who actually knows what they’re doing to fix it.

The sculptor should just have quoted that, and everyone would have agreed to keep the demonic monstrosity after all.
Hm. Personally as an occasional artist I know when whatever I was working on looks like what it was supposed to. I have absolutely no freaking idea why he felt that that statue looked like Lucille Ball in the first place. Is he blind and working from memory or something? I would never have cast that piece looking as little like Lucille Ball as it does. I would have reworked my study model until it actually looked like her from the photograph I would have been using as a model.
Looks to me like it’s Lucy up to the nostrils but everything above that is Ricky.
Poor Lucy. She deserves so much better. Although with her sense of humor, she is probably laughing at it in the hereafter.
If anything could make me believe that a statue could be possessed by evil, leave its pedestal and terrorize the neighborhood at night, this one surely would. Those crazy-looking eyes and monstrous teeth. Eeek.

Well, maybe, but a Scary Dante at least seems a tad more appropriate than Scary Lucy. Despite the name, The Divine Comedy wasn’t exactly a sitcom, you know what I’m saying?

Dante’s statue just looks like an old guy to me.
In fairness, the statue isn’t as scary as Lucy was in MAME.
He looks like a scary mean old guy with soulless empty eyes.

Admittedly, he doesn’t look happy in any of them, but at least his head is in proportion with everything else, and his eyes are in proportion with the head. In that freaky Cambridge statue, they’re out of kilter, and he looks as if he wants your soul.
Did Jabba the Hut encase all these people in carbonite?
I have a compromise for the Lucy statue. Just cut off the head and leave the rest alone.
Paint it’s hair green, and you’ve just cast the Joker for the next Batman film.
