I may get screen credit on The History Channel

One of my web pages (not the one linked in my profile, but I think there’s a link to it on that one) is devoted to the 1945-1949 Willys-Overland CJ2A Jeep. I started it because I’d bought a '46 CJ2A and I could not find a model-specific page where I could find information. There’s a page dedicated to the CJ3B, so I used it as a model. My page has become very popular (who knew?) and includes a lot of useful information.

So the other day I got an e-mail from a guy who is producing a segment about the first civilian jeeps for The History Channel. He wants to use some of the original advertising I have on the site. He also wants to use some of the photos. I told him that I have permission to use the photos on the site, but that I’m unclear whether I have the right to allow their use by others. He’d have to run it through THC’s legal department, or contact the owners directly. Anyway, he asked about a specific ad, so I guess that’s my contribution. He says I’ll get a screen credit and a copy of the segment.

If the segment makes the final cut, it will air 29 July.

GREAT!
It’s nice to be recognized.
For merit, anyway.

That’s awesome - I’ll definitely tape that!

Congrats, by the way!

I presume the first civilian jeeps didn’t have the clips to hold an M1 Garand that R. Lee Ermey refers to as an “Anti-Theft Device”.

Congratulations.

I ask on behalf of all fellow dopers that you ask them to give you credit as “Johnny L.A.” and not your “real” name. We won’t recognize you as anything else.

OK, now that you’re famous, all that is left is to become rich - good buddy, generous pal of mine.

Congrats!
