I Messed Up My Farmer's Tan

<snerk> IN BED! <snerk>

I just can’t resist. I try, but I just can’t.

misstee I got me some good maters right now. Picked from a friend’s garden. I’ve been eatin’ mater sammiches with lots of mayo. I loves em so drippy ya gotta stand over the kitchen sink to eat em. MMMMMMM!

If the sprayer is working then it’s probably not a problem with the tap itself. There may be something gunking up the nozzle. There’s usually some sort of screen or aerator in there that can get plugged up. You should be able to unscrew it by hand (put the plug in the sink to make sure you don’t lose any loose bits) and rinse it out.

I had a nice long weekend, since Monday was a holiday. Sort of, anyway - it’s a holiday in Ontario where I live, but not in Quebec across the river where I work, but I always use a vacation day and take the day off anyway, on account of the home side bus service is poor to non-existant on holidays. Mrs B and Miss B were off to her sister 2’s farm on Saturday for her niece’s birthday (I got to stay home and look after the cats), and we all went to sister 3’s place on Sunday for brother-in-law’s/different niece’s birthdays. I didn’t need to cook either day, so I made pot roast yesterday. I cook supper on weekends and holidays are sort of part of the weekend (at least this is Mrs B’s theory), but she forgot and was coming upstairs with stuff from the freezer when she saw me already cooking, so she was happy (plus she got to eat pot roast with gravy and mashed potatoes and peas, but no baklava because she finished the last piece off on Friday).

Glad you’re hubby’s OK. I think you’re supposed to get a new helmet after you’ve crashed (but I don’t even own a helmet so take that for what it’s worth). But now that he’s crashed he qualifies for membershipin COBB. ** warning** might be some colorful language although I didn’t see any on the first page

What a great site! I’ll have to show him when I get home. He’ll get a kick out of that.

Don’t feel bad donkey, that’s why managers get the big bucks.

All this talk of fresh picked corn and maters is making me hungry. swampy is absolutely right about mater sammiches being best when there is lotto mayo on em. Course, being as I is a lady, I cuts mine carefully in quarters and eats em all dainty like.

Is it me, or is this day going by real S L O W…

Well, the starting pay for them is only .50 cents more than starting pay for a cashier. Actually, it may be 90 cents. I don’t remember if they’re grade 5 or 6.

Anyways, I think that I’m a heathen. I was talking to someone earlier, and it appears that I’m in the minority, because I like my pitted fruits (peaches/plums/nectarines) and tomatoes cold. As in, I like to put them in the fridge. Am I crazy?

Yep. You area deranged, loony maniac for putting them in the fridge. But that’s just my opinion. As to the manager folks, they know dealing with bad, bad customers is part of the deal for gettin’ to wear a name tag with “Manager” on it. It’s kinda rainy here, btw, so you might want to have an umbrella handy out in the bushes.

Boy, I feel good. I cranked up the BS machine and wrote up everything I need for my market report. Now it’s off to the high-mucky-mucks for approval and I will actually finish my report yet! Time for a treat methinks.

No umbrella. It’s ok. I’m dedicated.

And also, swampy, if you’re stalking me for the next few hours, you’ll get to see me naked. So there.

Man, what an oil change! I had an appointment at 3 to get my 165K mile oil change. It was taking a while, but it’s not like I have anything better to do. Then the desk guy came over and told me my coolant system leaked all over the place. The reservoir was empty. Crap, just what I need. But they pressure tested it, and it turned out to be a clamp that slipped, so that was good. Of course, I had to pay for the pressure test and more coolant. I also let them do a fuel system flush - they gave me a coupon.

So for just under $150, I got my oil changed. And stuff.

My sweetie got bumped from behind on his way home - while driving!! The yutz behind him wasn’t paying attention. Fortunately, there was no damage, but doggone, when you “bump” someone at 55MPH, maybe you should go back for more training. sheesh.

I’m glad the day is done, for all intents and purposes. Or intensive porpoises. Whatever.

Amen to that. In a departure from the recent norm, today did not suck so bad that I wanted to take my own life with a letter opener. Quelle surprise. (That’s French … I think. I took four years of Spanish.)

In celebration for the suck-lack (sucklack? Swampy, can I get a grammar call on that one?), I have decided that I don’t need to do my laundry tonight. If I should decide I need to wear jeans tomorrow, the ones I’m wearing now still have another day left in 'em, and I’m nowhere near close to the bottom of the underwear drawer–I just need to launder so I can pack for this weekend … and that’s days away, still.

Instead, I shall go to my doctor’s appointment (where I’m hopeful that my anxiety of the last few days will score me some valium or something), pick up dinner, and head home to relax on my couch and watch my new Moonlighting box set, which I bought at lunch. (I know, you’re all terribly jealous.)

On second thought, I believe I shall order dinner, because that’s even less work for me.

suck-lack (sucklack? Swampy, /QUOTE]

I believe that swampy is not familiar with a lack of sucking. <snerk>

Oh, I’m sure Swampy’s had ‘dry’ spells.

When we were at Target (pronounced Tar-Jay) the other day Wife bought a cheapo DVD of the first 2 episodes of 24 ‘cause someone told her it was good.
Guess what she immediately ordered offen e-bay? THe first season DVD set. Methinks I’ll be seein’ a lot of Keiffer Sutherlin the next few nights. In fact, now we’re looking for seasons 2 and 3 on e-bay. Why do TV series DVD cost so much more than movies?

OTOH, Ebert and Roper said that the Thin Man movies (William Powell and Myrna Loy) are being released on DVD. All six movies for $41.94 on Amazon.com.
I wants 'em.

Allergies…the allergies are out to get me. Doesn’t ragweed usually come out later in August? I’ve been all itchy and sneezy since Saturday. It was pretty bad yesterday, but seems to have calmed down today due to active intake of antihistamines. But it’s greatly inhibited my ability to do much of anything useful.

Draelin, has anyone tried calling the missing receptionist? That way you’d at least have a chance of knowing whether there’s something wrong or whether she just forgot to resign.

I’ve been watching Firefly episodes and just generally hanging out waiting to feel like I have some energy. Have I mentioned I have allergies?

Wow, that was a mega oil change FCM! At least the problem was minor.

And Ashes, would that lack of sleep be…ummm…caffeine induced? Cuz ya know that stuff doesn’t really help you sleep.

GT ::ducks and runs before Ashes[sup]2[/sup] can get in here to bean her::

I’m thinking suck lackage would be the most proper form. Then again. as donkey (who is apparently running around nekkid) pointed <snerk> out, I don’t suffer from lack of sucking, though I do like suck lackage days as far as work and stuff is concerned. Suck lackage in other areas is, however, a matter of great concern for me. Fortunately I have someone to assist there so that is currently not a problem.

That may well be the nastiest thing I’ve ever posted in the MMP.

Yes, I have had a few beers. Why do you ask?

We need to change this from MMP to TMI.

Sheesh… :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s good to be home! I was in West Virginia this weekend for my cousin’s wedding reception (just the reception, no wedding–that was in April). We ate lots of cake and saw lots of relatives and other assorted people.

I picked up a couple of hitchhiking bunnies on the way home. They were standing by the road with a sign that said “Raleigh or bust,” so they came home with me, and they’re staying in the “guest bedroom” until their new mom comes to pick them up. They’re the cutest little bunnies I’ve ever seen! They were supposed to go home tonight, but they’re not going until tomorrow, so they get to stay with me one more night. On the down side, now I have to go clean out the cage. I never thought I’d be running a bunny hotel. I provide maid service and room service, but they never even give me tips. But they make up for it in extreme cuteness, with their twitchy little noses and floppy ears.

FCM, glad your oil change wasn’t too expensive.

Draelin, I’m anxiously waiting to hear more about The Missing Receptionist. This could turn out to be a good story. Did she ever call? I can’t imagine just not showing up for work, and not telling anyone, and still expecting to have a job when you just happen to wander in. It doesn’t work that way for me.

Yay! I fixed my faucet! I finally managed to find my monkey wrench and remove the aerator and there was no oozy alien life form but there was an oozy former washer that was all bunched up and blocking the hole that the water goes through. The hole was rather small so it didn’t take much to block it. The washer had broken and was all curled up and started falling apart in my hands. I’m not sure if I need to replace the washer or not, after I cleaned out the aerator and put it back on there was no leaking so maybe I don’t need the washer. Thanks to those who suggested that. I was thinking I would have to take apart the faucet aerator but I was glad that others confirmed my suspicions.

CD, I also keep all my fruit and veggies, except bananas, in the fridge. I do prefer to eat them cold but it is also so hot here that it only takes a day or two for anything left unrefrigerated to get overripe and mushy. Bananas don’t last very long unrefrigerated, most of the ones I buy usually end up in the freezer waiting to be made into banana bread.

Today didn’t suck at the Sneezy household either. The local police dept. had a National Day Out tonight, so we all went.

They had bounce houses, (my daughters were in heaven!), free grub, (hot dogs, chips, and soda.) and giveaways (balloons, stickers, etc.). They also had a police dog demonstration, and a firetruck, ambulance, police car and swat vehicle to see.

It wasn’t very cultural, but the kids had fun, and that was the main idea for going.
Now I gotta put 'em to bed and hope that they are tired enough to go to sleep.

Night all.
