In the TV Weekly supplement to the Sunday Paper (The State, Columbia, SC), one movie (the name of which escapes me) will be on this week (I think the network is TCM, though).
As most of us know, movies are frequently listed with their original release dates. The release date shown for this movie: 2012. The “correct” date: 1912.
You are probably correct. I know that a lot of software is written to interpret 2 digit year formats up to 20 as 2000 and anything over 20 as 1900, ex if I type in 1/1/20 it is interpreted as 1/1/2020 but 1/1/21 would be 1/1/1921.
I have encountered a totally benign (I hope) Y2k error in WS_FTP Limited Edition, the FTP program I use at work. So far, no adverse effects have shown up.
The file windows of the program show the date of the files in the format 991108, which would represent 8 November 1999. However, this year, the dates did not show up as 001108 (8 November 2000) as I had expected, but instead as 1001108. The program added 1 to the year designater of 99 and came up with 100!
Welcome to the year 100!
