I recently found a great site dedicated to that zany mis-Information Minister. I really wish I could get him to speak at my graduation. I think my favourite quote of his was,
Anyone care to recant their favourite Comic-al moment?

This was NOT a post by emacknight !
He just wants you to THINK its him.
but its not.
LIES ALL LIES THIS MESSAGE BOARD IS NOTHING BUT LIES
I am committing suicide at the gates of this OP.
My fave comments to journalists: “There are no American troops. Do not be scared. We will look after you.”
According to Collounsbury in this thread, there’s an al Sahaf movie coming out.
I just hope it’s a musical.
“Don’t cry for me Iraqi Peeeeeeople!”
Ah, that’s great! According to CNN Alton Bryan wrote a song about him called “I can’t believe what I’m hearing.” They plan to donate his royalties to an Iraqi children’s charity if he fails to claim them.
Indeed yes, “I am Not al Sahaf” Coming to A Screen Near Me at http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=182103
Hah!
You are right emac - whenever I needed a laugh I would tune in to see him.
so…where is he?
I miss the dood, too. I sorta feel like Kramer in the Kenny Rogers Roasted Chicken episode of “Seinfeld”, where at the end, Kramer is sitting at his window, plaintively calling out: "Kenny?.. Kennnnnny…
Mohammed?.. Mo? Please come back…
“Saddam was going to tear down that statue anyway. He tricked the infidels into doing it for him. Then, he personally forced them out of the city”
Here’s a great site where you can make your own press release featuring our favorite inof source and see the top 50 that others have done.
I think Mo was one of the best comic straight men of all time.
What was the deal with all the “stomachs roasting in hell” though? I can think of several other images of a body parts roasting in hell to inspire fear.
Heard on the news this morning that some English musicians were making a dance mix track based on his quotes. Anyone have a copy yet?
Yeah, I still miss him too.
But my aim’s getting better.
My favorite:
“Bush, Blair and Rumsfeld. They are the funny trio”
Well, not ha-ha funny. Not like, Three Stooges funny. Now that was a funny trio. No, this is more of a quiet, reflective funny.
Here’s a question that occurred to me as I scrolled through the list of quotes on the page linked in the OP - What is this guy’s obsession with shoes? He mentions repeatedly that the enemy are welcomed/beaten/etc. with shoes. Seems to me, you’d want to come up with a more fearsome weapon to attack the infidel.
On the other hand, given how week and cowardly the infidel is, maybe shoes is enough.
Shoes are dirty. You beat a thief or a whore with shoes. Your wife and children you beat with a stick.
One of my favorite:
“We have destroyed 2 tanks, fighter planes, 2 helicopters and their shovels - We have driven them back.”
They’ve destroyed our shovels!
I dunno. I can’t decide. I like this one a lot:
“They are not in Najaf. They are nowhere. They are on the moon. They are snakes in the desert.”
They’re on the moon! Okay, then.
But how can you not like:
“I speak better English than this villain Bush”
It’s funny cause it’s true!
jimson jim, one of the sites in honour of him has aprons on sale with the " roasting stomachs" quote on it. i have got to get one of those.
i loved the shovel quote, it is def. one of his top 10 for me.
