Y’know, I’m a (D) and am not surprised or really very(*) disappointed that it turns out to be a close one. Heck, I was more surprised that back around the conventions there were people confidently sticking forks in Romney – the President ***is ***a vulnerable incumbent and I fully expected that the Republican side would get their act together once they got it through their heads that Mitt was the best they could get.
(*) I may feel somewhat disappointed in that there is no sign that the public is growing more resistant to, or the campaigns more hesitant to use, manipulative propaganda, mendacious spin and pursuit of nonsubstantial flaws in the opponent. But not very, my hopes are low in this area.
