I must have the worst ever Warcraft 3 record!

This is getting highly annoying… Let me outline the situation for you. First off, I’d like to say that I used to be an avid video gamer… I’ve been playing video games since the original Intellivision came out. I am, in my not so humble opinion damn good at video games. Next off, my little brother, 5 years younger always played with me… he’s good at video games, but was never better than me at any of them. Hey, he’s 5 years younger (I’m 28 now, he’s going to turn 23 this month…) than me.

Me and my little brother just moved in to a new apartment together… I work for IBM, I’ve got tons of computers. macs and PC’s, and just made a computer for my little brother. He is an avid Warcraft player… we both bought both WC3 and the Frozen throne… I also just bought a Game Cube.

Okay with that said, here’s the issue. My little brother, either out of pride or ignorance, somehow does not remember me kicking his ass in every single conceivable game on the planet. (I used to beat him so bad in video games that he would start crying on a regular basis) Also, we both now play Warcraft… he has an excellent record, while I for whatever reason can not buy a win! This, happenes in only this game I should add…every other game on the planet, I still seem to have my old skills at… in other words, I maintain a winning record at them. I beat him in the new game we just got Mortal Combat pretty easy. (I don’t beat him too bad and let him have wins, actually, because I remember how he used to just crumble when I straight out whipped his ass)

So my question is why do I suck so bad at this one game, but am excellent at every other game I play? I should mention I play only one vs one online gaming with warcraft, nothing else. Also any ideas on how to deal with my little brother? I know that there is quite a lot of hacking on battle.net, I could be simply a victim of this…

Because to be good at Warcraft, you need to know the abilities, strengths and weaknesses of each of the units inside out, and be able to match them strategically. It’s not all sheer brute force.

Just remember that this ain’t C&C or Rise of Nations, you need to micromanage your units to be good. Other things:

  • Attack creeps early for hero experience
  • Know the maps inside and out, including where the special items are
  • Your brother is using a rigged map and is cheating you. Perhaps it’s your turn to choose the map :dubious:

There’s a few gems of advice at GameFaqs (search for WarCraft 3) and nice dirty tactics you can use against your brother :stuck_out_tongue:
