I need a cool clock

Who out there in Dope land can recommend me a cool or unusual wall clock for my den? It’s a typical guy hangout, 7 foot wooden book shelves, brick fireplace, roll-top computer desk, wood floors. Only clock in there is my computer clock, which I can’t see if the computer is off or I’m playing a full-screen game.

Nothing too expensive, let’s say $30 or so tops. Unless it’s way ultra cool.

This place has a lot of cool clocks. The Afternoon

(The stem on the martini glass clock is a pendulum)

In the “way. ultra cool” catagory we have those by Klockwerks. For less expensive ones, I’d check Archie McPhee, Think Geek, Johnson Smith Co (they’re the guys who sell X-Ray Specs).

Wear mesh underwear.

Oh wait, you said clock. Never mind.

If you have the cash, there’s always Nixies

A collection of novelty clocks.

One type of clock I think would be cool, and I don’t think I’ve seen one yet, would be:
round silver unit mounted on a blank wall (puck-shaped, I guess), with a light inside, and would cast a shadow of the numbers and hands around it.

Anyone know of one like that around?

How about the Bacon Alarm Clock, which wakes you up by cooking bacon in the morning?

This clock would probably require some assembly, but it’s definitely cool.

I had a cool one awhile back. The battery works packed up, so I removed the machinery and the hands. I painted the word “RELAX” on the face, and I hung it back up. :stuck_out_tongue:

Saw these at an art fair once. They’re a little pricey but really cool:

Metal Clocks

Someday I want to get one, but I have yet to do it…

I have a really cool one like this on my office wall:

Fakes everyone out.

While many links have cool looking clocks, this is one that would great for birthdays that have the big “0” in them…sort of turning back time, but moving on…

Very cool, Ignatz, very cool.

Speaking of which, don’t forget to move YOUR clock backwards tonight!

Hmm- not within the price range, but to be really sharp get a Cuckoo Clock.

Touche’. I will not have to do that as I failed to set IT ahead an hour when we went on daylight SAVING time.

I did set my “normal” uncool clocks ahead last night but I STILL woke up at 5:20, using only my Circadian alarm. Darn! But that gives me the opportunity to get on this gdsdmb really early today.
I have to post again on the WWI vets and the GOBAMA threads.

Well, if you want inexpensive and cool (but requires a bit of time), you could make your own out of paper. Yup, it really works.

Or if you want to spend about $200, you could make a definite statement about yourself and your mental faculties.

Thanks for all the ideas. I like this one, this one, and this one. Still trying to decide, if it’s the $100 one I need to wait a while to save up a little.

Ecivres fo eb ot dalg!

There are cheaper (backwards) ones on google. I bought mine at Spencer Gifts at the mall for about $20.
