I need a kickass pumpkin cheesecake recipe

It’s the season, and I make a pretty good regular cheesecake, but I need a good recipe for pumpkin cheesecake. Olive Gardeon sometimes has it this time of year, and that’s good, but I’d like to try my hand at making my own.

Anyone out there got a really good one they would like to share?

I’m making this one to take to my in-laws for (Canadian) Thanksgiving next weekend:

SWIRLED PUMPKIN AND CARAMEL CHEESECAKE

Ooooh yeah.

Start with a gingersnap crust:
6 T butter, melted
1 C gingersnap crumbs
1/2 C finely chopped hazelnuts
1/4 C brown sugar
1 t nutmeg
Combine like you do for a graham cracker crust.

For the filling:
Blend 3 eggs and 8 oz of cream cheese until smooth.
Add 2/3 C sugar, 2 t cinnamon, 1 t ginger and a dash of cloves, plus 2 C pumpkin puree (that’s one can if you’re using canned). Mix well and pour into crust.
Bake at 350F for 30-35 minutes.

Then top with:
1 1/2 C sour cream
1/4 C confectioner’s sugar
2 T Frangelico hazelnut liquer

Bake at 450F for 5-7 minutes, until the top turns golden.

Heaven! This pumpkin cheesecake is why Thanksgiving was invented.
(The recipe was given to me by a lovely geek lady named Heidi in Trondheim. If she happens to be reading this, Hiya! :D)

There is a great one in Death by Chocolate - its a two layer cheesecake, one layer is chocolate one is pumpkin. But its copyrighted, so if you are interested, get to a library…
