I need a new laptop. Where should I go?

So the universe continues to poop on me at the moment and killed my Mac. I’d prefer another apple because I click a lot of links here and don’t want the virus issues that I am accustomed to with a Microsoft.

But my husband got laid off on the sixth of December and California unemployment answers only 10 to 17 percent of their calls, which so far doesn’t include us! So money is an issue.

So, what can you recommend and where can I get it?

Look at TigerDirect. They have everything, and they ship super fast.

Newegg is pretty competitive as well.

consider a nonApple product if money is an issue.

a Windows computer with the free/inexpensive virus protection should be fine.

Newegg has computers with Linux installed, $200 to $300.

Newegg has hundreds of refurbished computers.

If you want to save money, you might consider an Android tablet with attachable keyboard.

For Windows computers, I always “build” the machine I want at the Dell website, note their price, and then see if I can do better at TigerDirect, Best Buy, etc. If I can, I get it there; if not, I order the Dell.
