I’m not sure how to spell its name, but it’s something like “lows.” It’s a cocaonut paste of sorts, and it’s really great. Does anyone know what I mean?
I can only guess that you mean halavah, which is made from sesame seed paste.
Hmm, unfortunately, no. It’s a coconut paste, of sorts. And its name is only one syllable.
The closest thing I could find is loz, an almond paste dessert with chopped pistachios. However, this site lists “loz coconut” with coconut powder and sugar as the only ingredients.
I suspect that if you replaced the almonds in the first recipe with ground coconut, you’d get close. You might need to reduce the sugar and the water slightly, as coconut tends to be moister and sweeter than almonds. If that doesn’t suit you, you might try googling for “coconut”, “sweetmeat”, and “recipe”.
