Other than the fact that you didn’t use the word “troll”, how is this different from a trolling accusation? I didn’t report the post because it seemed you may have chosen your words carefully enough to avoid a a rules violation. But the drive-by style in which this was delivered was particularly asinine. Yes, I deliberately went out and chose a vehicle with the express purpose of annoying other people (“attracts asshole drivers”?). I had no better use for the $74,000 I had laying around, so figured “Hey! What a fun way to pass the time!” And once again, I don’t give a rat’s ass whether or not you’re sympathetic. Fuck your non-sympathetic ass, and the hat it’s wearing.
Sorry, I didn’t intend to imply that your intentions were to annoy other drivers. Clearly though, your experience has been that more people tend to drive poorly when they are near RVs. I don’t doubt it. However, there have been a couple people in this thread that have chimed in that they are either annoyed or frightened or whatever by your type of vehicle. While it certainly doesn’t excuse poor driving, these people exist and their fears/annoyances are certainly based on real experiences. No one likes asshole drivers and the fact they exist obviously isn’t your fault. It just seems to me that dealing with the additional jerks should come with the territory when driving an RV.
A good ABS system will give a shorter stopping distance in almost all conditions*. The major exceptions being snow, sand, and gravel. But being able to modulate the hydraulic pressure to each wheel up to 10 times per second independently is something you cannot do with a standard braking system.
*There are some real shitty ABS systems out there. This may not be true for your car. YMMV.
