I Need an Archive of the Top 100 Each Week During the 1980's

I’ve googled and googled and googled to no avail.

I’m trying to find some sort of on-line archive of the top 100 hits during each week of the 1980’s. For example: January 1 - January 7, 1981, these were the top 100 songs: …

The closest I’ve come has been a gushing fan site that has lists of contributors’ favorite 100 songs of the 80’s - clearly not what I’m looking for.

Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks.

No such thing exists, SFAIAA. There are books of compiled charts, though.

Billboard Magazine is the basic source for the various top 100 charts in the U.S.

A quick look at their online site shows that they must have this information at hand, because they do a Top 100 Rewind for 1, 5, 10, and 15 years ago. So this page has the Hot 100 for May 13, 1989.

You have to subscribe to get the good info and archives, but if you need a decade’s worth of the Top 100 it may be worth it to you.

Billboard

It ain’t cheap, though…
Basically, that’s pretty valuable information, and they charge for it…

Apple’s iTunes Music Store has the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard Top Country, and Billboard Top R&B listings for every year from 1946 to the present. It’s not a week-by-week breakdown, but since downloading iTunes is free, it may be a more affordable alternative.
