I need help finding a Firefox/Thunderbird extension I used to have

Well, my mom used to have it, actually.

She uses Thunderbird and Firefox but lost some of her extensions. One of her favorites placed a Thunderbird notifier in one of the Firefox toolbars (similar to my beloved gmail notifier). When you’d get email in any account set up in Thunderbird, it would display a small ‘new message’ graphic. You could then click (possibly right-click) and it would tell you which email address got the email. I believe you could click on it and it would then bring up Thunderbird to view the message.

I can’t find the bloody extension! I’ve found her Forecast Fox (I love that thing) and a few others, but not this one. Anyone know where to get this? I keep stumbling across “update notifier”, but that just tells you if there are updates to extensions you already have.

The only one I found that was close was this extension, but it says it will only check pop3 mail accounts on firefox v 1.0, so it looks like it wouldn’t work on the latest version.

I don’t see that extension either.

Doesn’t Thunderbird already do a similar thing natively? When I get a new message, I get a tooltip type message box that pops up from my taskbar, telling me about how many new messages I got, along with who sent them and the first line or so of the email. Thunderbird has to be open for this to happen.

See if your mom has the latest version of Thunderbird, and that this feature is enabled. It might be a suitable replacement to the mystery extension.
