I need help finding a winter hat that I look good in.

The olympic hats should be on sale soon at the Bay, since Hudson’s Bay won the bid to outfit the team…

This might help.
Also this article.
And this one looks warm and very un-volleyball like.

ROFL! What’s that last one called? “I’m learning how to knit and I fucked up a bunch of potholders so now it’s a hat!”?

There’s only two hours left on the eBay kalpak with no bids yet.

You should buy it so we can be hat twins.

That kalpak kicks butt. I want one, too.

I wear a headband just so my ears don’t get cold, but I don’t think that will help the **Goddess, ** as she lives in far more northern climes than I. I only need the headband for maybe a week. Stupid warm weather. Save me some snow.

You could be arrested for that in certain countries in Eastern Europe.

Someone bought it about twenty minutes ago for the $4 starting bid. Was it you, AFG?

cplant: You’re just jealous of my keen fashion sense.

You might check out this site. The little jester or ceras hats might help break up the alleged freakish roundness of your head.

No, Sir; I do but admire your courage.

I am sick of being cold, but since I have the kind of job where I have to be dressed up… “hat hair” just won’t cut it for me.

So this year, I am giving up on trying to find a hat, and am just going to get myself a nice pashima shawl or the like.

That way I can wrap it over my head (shouldn’t squish the hair and leave dents), as well as around my neck.

Add some shades , and I should be good to go.

Naw, unfortunately. I would have but I don’t have Paypal or any such thing so I don’t think I could use eBay.

My wife sometimes knits these. Also, for extra cool, I suggest the classic.

I…you…they…

I would so buy one of the first hats from your wife if I weren’t broke. And I want one of those jester hats from further up thread, too.

The funny thing is I don’t even like hats that much and generally hate things on my head but I’ve started to love the more … unique designs out there lately.

Aes, get a grip. There are other things to spend your money on that will keep you warm. Like beer.

I generally don’t dress for the weather – the kalpak was free and I don’t even own a raincoat despite living in Oregon – and, like I said, I’m broke so I don’t have any money to blow anyway. If I did, I’d be more likely to buy the hat, though. No me gusto la cerveza.

Dang.

No me gusto el funny-o hat-o/

Pero yo amo el tequila. ¡Salud!

Thank you, dear. Thank you. I opened this thread hoping to find an answer to the question. I have a pashmina shawl already, and that’ll take the place of a hat for me this winter. It’s soft, thin, lightweight, and really warm. I recommend ordering from Cashmere Pashmina Group. They’ve been slashing prices, they have good quality real pashmina, and their shawls are nice and big.

Berets can look good on round heads because you can wear them at an angle. The knitted ones are nice and full and very warm and will cover both ears and still be assymetrical.

Also. look for crocheted cloches with detachable flowers or bows on the sides at eBay. They are very inexpensive and you can order them in the colors you want. I own several and they are so convenient. Since they hide part of your face, they keep it from looking so round. You have the option of flipping the brim up of down on some of them.
