Yep, totally sheltered and naive. I have no life experience and my entire post is founded in idealistic fantasy. Thank you for helping me to see that. I will henceforth keep my unimaginative and smug opinions to myself.
That was my second thought…!
Huh! Imagine that: me, working for you!
If you really want this job and it sounds like you do, I suggest cutting your hair short and wearing a wig until the color and length grow out.
Do this!
Don’t do that!
Can’t you read the signs?
Now that I think of it, I don’t see any prohibition against @Czarcasm shaving his hair and painting his skin blue and green.
Yeah, but I’m not looking for cute workarounds-Just looking to keeping the job and paying the bills. Considering the workplace problems faced by women, people of color and the LGBTQ community, whining about having to cut and/or uncolor my hair seems rather petty, don’t you think?
Are you an ally or not? Take a stand man!
How is the hair dye removal going?
I had it bleached, which didn’t remove all the color. However most of the color that remained was far enough from the scalp to allow my hairdresser to cut all but about three inches of it. The hair is now about the color it was before I colored it, and it is about the same length it was when I retired in December of 2019. The hair will grow back, and if the job doesn’t pan out My Beloved says she has some hair colors she would love to try out on me.
I love a happy ending.
Well I hope your boss is happy now. I think you should demand a raise.
ETA: So now you’re going to need a new avatar here?
Glad it worked out. I’m late to the party, but before i realized that, I was going to recommend a wig. That’s what my SIL did when she faced the same requirement decades ago. She bought and especially ugly “FU” wig in a natural color but unnatural texture. But I’m sure ordinary wigs are easy enough to find.
Good for her, but sounds too hot in summer.
