I need PC HELP, doesnt fit the sticky....

A few of my programs get the following message:

C:\Windows]system32\autoexec.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose “close” to terminate the application.
I am not Computer Illiterate by any means, but I don’t recall what I did to set this up, and I know Autoexec is among the top 3 or so files that are no-nos to touch.
Needless to say I cant get these programs to work (A few applications, and a lot of my older 3.X games)

Hmm, trying to guide a person to making ancient software (no offence) work on (assuming here) new operating system. I don’t envy that task.

What OS are you using? Are your games windows games or DOS games? What are the apps. This information might help diagnose the poribleme.

XP Home.

Most of the games are as I said 3.1 Win games.

A few pieces of software for Win 2000 doesnt work even though it says it works on 32 bit XP as well.

Basically you are trying to install/run software that XP is not configured to run. You gotta configure the autoexec.nt to get the stuff to work.

Before you alter any files copy them to something like autoexec.old so you can bring them back if something breaks.
