I need some sheet music please (Harry Potter vs. Star Wars themes).

BLUF: The ‘Harry Potter’ theme, and Star Wars’ “Skywalker” theme sound suspiciously the same to me–same key, sorta-same sequence of notes, and I learned that both were scored by John Williams. The only way, I can think of, to solve this riddle is to see some sheet music from both themes.

The backstory: The wife and I are taking a long-deserved vacation to Orlando, FL, to visit Universal Studios and Disney World, to include Harry Potter world, and Galaxy’s Edge. Naturally, we’re doing our ‘homework’ in watching both series, in order, on the weekends. Last weekend, we were doing a “HP/SW double-header,” when I heard (relatively) back-to-back two themes from two different films, that suspiciously sounded very familiar. . .

I saw online somewhere that one theme song (IIRC it was a SW chase scene score) that ‘accidentally’ got re-used in HP:Chamber of Secrets, but I can’t find where I saw that link on my cellphone.

So, help me settle this between-the-ears debate; I think I’m hearing the same song. . . am I wrong?

And why are there no “Star Trek” parks?

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least – Williams has a particular phrase of music I’ve heard in Towering Inferno, E.T. and Earthquake. Of course, that could be the fault of the movies’s sound editor (or whomever glues the music to the celluloid).

John Williams liked to use rising/falling fifths** and you can hear that in a lot of his themes.

Have a look here for the sheet music, I’m sure you’ll find it - https://musescore.com/

** to be precise, a “perfect fifth” - an interval of seven semi-tones, e.g. between C and G

I think this may be what you saw:

There’s a ‘Star Wars’ Music ‘Mistake’ in ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’; John Williams Composed for Both

Google thinks there are Star Wars rides at Disneyworld in Orlando and at Disney Paris.

My granddaughter (6yo) delighted in the Disney Paris ones in May and June. Her father was pretty pleased too.
