Good thoughts…
I hope all goes well for you (and UncleBeer), Barb. Here’s hoping it was just the oddity of displacement of travel.
Y’all take good care of yerselves.
Gah! Missed this thread. Geez, porcupine, I’m sorry.
I hope the tests went well and the results are exactly what you hope for.
Good luck, hope everything turns out well.
Any news yet, porc? I know you have to wait for the results and all, but how did it go?
Sorry I’ve missed this thread up until now.
Porcupine, you have the distinction of being the very first doper that I ever had a conversation with IRL (actually you might be the first doper that I ever even spoke to) and you were very friendly to this at the time newbie, so you hold a special place in my personal doper history and heart.
Here’s hoping that your MRI had a positive result.
Asylum, bet you didn’t know that UncleBeer (along with VileOrb) were the first dopers I met IRL. You see where that got me eventually.
The test went fine, as expected, though they did have to shoot dye in me. That’s SOP for this kind of test “with contrast,” thougth I didn’t know that going in.
The good news is that the results will be at my doctor’s office on Wednesday. So that means only another day and a half or so of stressing before I get the results. I’m absolutely horrible with unknowns, so I really am freaking out a bit.
The EEG is to check if I have abnormal brain waves. Duh! I already know that I do. Stoooooopid doctors. I guess they want to know if I have any abnormal brain waves that matter. That’ll be on ChiDope Friday.
Thanks again, everybody.
The results of my MRI/MRA came back normal. I’m very relieved!
Well, I was hoping that you’d be okay but “normal” seems a bit boring for you. Congrats on passing your tests!
Fantastic!
I am not sure I’d want to know the results of a Doper brain scan. I mean, we’re not your usual brand of person.
But sending good thoughts!
Thanks everybody. We appreciate the kinds thoughts - and e-mails. At least I do. I suppose porcupine does, too.
I’m sorry, darling…I posted my love and prayers and best wishes the other day, but I must have mis-clicked, since it doesn’t seem to be here.
[sub]maybe I am the one who needs a brain scan?[/sub]
Anyway, as I am sure you already know, my prayers have been with you, as always.
I am so glad things look fine.
I love you!

I didn’t see this thread till today, and I’m kind of happy about that - I got to get past the worrying part and right to the good news part in mere seconds. I hope the relief outweighs all the stress you both must have gone through the past week. Whew!
Glad all was normal!
Yay! Glad it was good news. We’ll take care of the normally functioning parts of your brain next weekend, don’t you worry.
uncrosses fingers
Well, about time, too! Driving and especially picking my nose was becoming quite the challenge, what with my fingers crossed and all.
Woohoo! Let’s hope the EEG is fine, too.
I’m gonna take steal one of Coldfire’s lines here. There’s not a chance in Hades I’da put you at 38 when I met you!
And here’s hoping you feel better and will continue to do so for a long, long time. We’re pullin’ for ya.
Thank Og for insurance (even mediocre insurance like mine). I just got the itemized “Statement of Service” from the hospital for the MRI/MRA. Note that this is the non-contracted out-of-network rate. It’s over $6600. I’ll be responsible for 20% of whatever the contracted rate is, which is generally considerably less.
I definiately didn’t put enough in my medical slush fund (tax deferred spending account) this year. I only put in $1000 - I should have maxed it out at $3000. Hell, I’m spending over $75 a month right now on prescription copays alone.
Aguecheek, thanks for the compliment. I just got carded at the restaurant UncleBeer and I went to Saturday. I really thought she was joking.
The EEG is the day after tomorrow. I’m going to bed early tonight with a sleeping pill (chronic insomniac) in the hopes of getting up at a reasonable hour, going in for my blood work in the morning, and getting in a little shut eye tomorrow before midnight, so I can stay up all night without it being too difficult.
Glad to hear things are looking all right, so far.
Good vibes being sent your way strictly for insurance purposes.
