I feel the need to invite “Pro Life” Republicans to sit nakedly on a fallen and particularly spiny cactus.
In addition to all the well-deserved mocking that this spluttery and off-topic harrumphing has already received, I’ll just point out that executing everybody convicted of murder in the US would involve killing a whole lot of wrongfully convicted innocent people. Several out of every hundred, in fact.
Given that over 15,000 people are convicted of murder every year in the US, that means that if these dumbass tough-talking “conservatives had [their] way”, they’d be wrongfully executing hundreds of wrongfully convicted non-murderers every year.
And just to state what ought to be the obvious: refusing to execute criminals, even murderers, is not the same thing as “coddling” them.
Death-penalty opponents don’t hold that view because we want to be tender to murderers, but because we want to live in a more rational society that doesn’t childishly imagine that executing murderers somehow stops people from murdering. (And also because we care about the rights and lives of the wrongfully convicted who are not murderers.)
Hey, sometimes ya gotta break some eggs . . . but not if they’re fertilized of course.

The whole series of recent shit decisions by SCOTUS has me rethinking my position on post-natal abortion.
On that point, I somewhat agree. Catholic doctrine contradicts the Bible on many points, one of them being the death penalty.
