I Never Drink Water

I drink plenty of fluids but no water. I only drink water in really hot weather when I am sweating a lot. Other than that I drink tea, coffee, orange juice etc. If the weather is hot I like a big cup with lots of ice, 1/3 red wine, 2/3 diet 7up. If you take the ice into account it’s mostly water anyway.

Oh, another thing I love in hot weather is that Crystal Light. The lemon flavor gives the water enough taste to make it taste good.

IO do not think you need to drink water specifically. As has been pointed out, there’s plenty of it in other drinks. What is important in hot weather is to keep yourself hydrated and I do that pretty well by drinking plenty of fluids before i am thirsty.

Water’s just fine with me as long as has at least 10% alcohol addded.

I’ve always been one of the people who isn’t particularly fond of the non-taste, taste of water. Plus, I have this stupid heightened sense of smell so everytime the weather gets hot or the city flushes the system or whatever and I can smell that kind of “green” smell in water I have a hard time drinking it. That said, I heartily recommend drinking tons of water and try to stay in the habit, though must admit I’ve been out of the habit lately. (As a matter of fact, I filled up the filter pitcher when I sat down to check the boards.)

I don’t like to spend a lot for bottled water (but I will if need be) so I encourage the water filter systems out there. Richard Simmons even sells a water purifier filter that fits in regular water/soda pop style bottles.

A couple of years ago, I started drinking that recommended amount of water every day because its supposed to improve your ability to lose weight and be healthy. Laugh if you must but I did feel better/healthier. While I’m not totally into the holistic medicine and stuff, I think there is something in that ridding the body of toxins, etc.

Also, and I’ll be very personal here for just a moment (just never mention it again), I’ve always had problems with my bowels and shall we say, harsh, painful movements. I found that when I drink AT LEAST eight 8 oz glasses (you’re actually supposed to increase that when you’re more active, overweight and/or in hot weather) my movements were easier and more frequent which made me feel less…well…“icky”…less blocked up. And it did/does seem to help me with weightloss and is especially important when I’m/you’re exercising and losing water through sweat.

Like everything else, there is a website on water at, you guessed it, Water.com. There are some reasons why juices and stuff like kool aid don’t count in the water equation, and if you’re really interested I’ll find the info I have (but its in a booklet, not on-line so it would taking typing time:)). It has to do with the digestive process.

Cheers!
Peta, who’s going to get a glass of water right now!

I’ve discovered a good way to psych myself out of the whole “EIGHT GLASSES are you NUTS!” mode is to use/re-fill a 16 or 20 oz bottle–you only have to drink four of them, and it just doesn’t seem like as much. (A little fresh lemon doesn’t hurt either…as others have mentioned!)

Here it is, someone else who didn’t drink water.
Old Stewball.

Anyone up for a hootenanny? Pass me that bad boy.
Ok, I’ll go away.
Peace,

If I drink water, its mostly [not all] from the kitchen faucet. That water is kept mobile. Plastic leaches into water stored in plastic bottles & bacteria loves to live in those bottles too, so I don’t drink that very often.

Well, I don’t like water, I’m a big fan of Coke. But at the beginning of this year, I drank water exclusively for three months. No Coke, no Juice, only a little milk. I also lost 8 pounds, and all my pants fit better. I lost my iron will though after my first sip of Coke, and now I’m back in my old nasty habits.
Though the more I think about it, the more I want to start drinking a gallon of water a day again (My pants are getting tight)

Sorry - hijack -

I guess you aren’t drinking diet Coke? Don’t like the taste of it or are you allergic to NutraSweet? (Not joking, my mom’s allergic to NutraSweet) I found by drinking only diet sodas and not snacking after 7pm, I’ve dropped 15lbs in 6 weeks. It’s nice to feel the pants get loose again.

I’ve found something I love to drink so much I have to force myself not to buy it for fear of going broke. I recommended it in a diet thread. It’s flavored carbonated water. We have two brands here, Canada Dry (lemon/lime, raspberry, plain) and La Croix (lemon, lime, berry, plain). The CD has more C02 added. Both are delicious and once you’re used to them, as someone mentioned, drinking a Coke (even diet) is like choking down a block of sugar, then your teeth start to peel.

Bratman, no I don’t drink Diet Coke. I don’t drink Caffeine Free Coke either. I don’t know if anybody else notices this, but all three Cokes have distinct flavors. Quite frankly, I can’t stand Diet Coke or CF Coke. Good Ole Coca Cola Classic is the only way to go. The only soda I drink other than Coke is Sprite.
I’m a Coca Cola addict.

I used to never drink water at all. THEN, I moved to the Arizona. When I moved here, I drank water like crazy, up to two gallons a day. Now, I’m in the habit of drinking about a gallon a day. I still hate how it tastes, and the tap water here tastes like crap…but I need it to survive. Besides, IMO, nothing quenches your thirst like a big huge glass of H2O on the rocks.

I think the simplest solution to cover the taste of tap water is to put a few drops of lemon juice in it. A little goes a long way, and that little zing can turn a boring glass of water into an acceptable drink.
