I never eat?

Huh. If that’s so, then why am I fat?

A couple of mates came round yesterday. They were out for a motorcycle ride. (I’d been out mowing the lawns and cleaning my kayak.) We hung out a bit. They got it into their heads to scrub the hot tub cover and hosing off the patio, so I did some more mowing on the back yard.

Anyway, we were just chillin’ inside and one of my friends said he was hungry. I had some tofu with Soy Vay Chinese Marinade for breakfast and lunch, and a bowl of French onion soup for dinner (a couple of hours before). The other friend asked what he was thinking of to eat. The first said, ‘I don’t know. He never eats.’ When I protested, he said, ‘Right. Tofu.’ These are the same guys who wanted to stop at McDonalds last Friday just six hours after we’d had a huge Thai dinner.

Weird, eh?

Everyone’s eating habits are different. OhFace eats every other hour it seems, while I might eat only twice a day, if that. I sit on my ass behind a desk most of the day, so I don’t really need the 5000 calories provided by a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When I was skateboarding a lot, I ate more. Now, not so much. Of course, I only weigh 130 and can eat what I want when I want it, so the option is always there.

I owe my weight to a thrice-weekly pizza-large-kebab-2litre-coke-movie-with-friend ritual. I didn’t need to eat that much but did because it was a ritual.

Bucking Fastard hindsight. I’m not a fat person metabolically, just stupidityly. This is why I know that if I can get the weight off, keeping it off will be a breeze.

I’m a grazer. I just can’t usually eat alot of food in one sitting. Last night for dinner I was seriously full after eating just one biscuit and one wing. My stomach must be like the size of a quarter. sigh I usually eat every few hours, but it’s not usually much in a sitting.

On the bright side, that combined with my overactive metabolism means I probably won’t have to worry about getting fat anytime soon.

Cerri, you and OhFace are very similar. I once took her out to eat and she literally ate one bite of her meal and said, “I’m full”.

I’m a strange and picky eater. If nothing we have sounds good, I’ll sometimes just go without dinner. Some days, I’ll only eat once a day because I forgot or was busy, but alternately, I can consume half of a large pizza in one sitting.

Yes, I know it’s not healthy. My doctor yells at me all the time, because I sometimes get too skinny. (She actually ordered me to drink milkshakes.)

Food has just never really interested me. Honestly, if meals came in pill form and I never had to bother with food again, I’d probably opt for the pills, except for special occasions. Yeah, food tastes good, but I’ve never understood some people’s obsession with it.

It’s like sweets: I’m probably the only person on earth who dislikes cake and ice cream, candy and chocolates. Give me potato chips over that junk any day.

Well, I ate three times today; so Ha! to my friends! :stuck_out_tongue:

Breakfast: Two-egg omelette with a slice of sharp Irish cheddar and some salsa.
Lunch: Filtration units of domestic fowl, immersed in heated oleic extract of vegetable matter
Dinner: ¼ of a wild-caught salmon fillet with Soy Vey Very Very Teriyaki, and green beans.

You sure it’s not the other way round? My friend’s like that, he eats snacks through the day in an effort to keep his weight up, and so is never hungry enough to eat a normal meal.

When I was looking after his kids, who he did the same thing to, I fixed them in two days by giving them nothing to eat (especially no full-strength fruit juice, they had litres of that stuff every day) except at mealtime.

I’m very regimented about my eating. Lunch and breakfast, in particular, I must eat within the same 15 minute window each day. If I go over that window for whatever reason, I get instantly irritable and grouchy.

Sometimes it’s not even 15 minutes. If I’m planning on eating at 11:30 at work, say, and someone else has something in the microwave for 3 minutes, I get real antsy. I start wondering whether I can actually eat my left-overs cold, even if it’s something like a hamburger.

Supper, I’m a little more chill about because my evening routines are more fragmented.

People “obsess” over food because you need it to survive.

On top of that, food brings me more pleasure on a day-to-day basis than anything else. . .more than exercise, more than music, more than my car, more than reading, more than drinking, more than TV, more than sleeping. . .food trumps them all.
