I never saw a miracle before...

Check out this video. It has a tag warning of extreme violence, but there is none in the clip. All I can say is un-freakin-believable!

It’s awesome that he got out of it OK, but somehow it doesn’t seem all that uncommon for people to survive auto accidents that look completely gruesome. It’s an interesting phenomenon.

The trailer was what is known as a “curtainside”, it’s basically a flatbed w/ an overhead frame and sliding side curtains of a heavy waterproof material. The cargo seems to have been relatively lightweight. Lucky, but certainly not a “miracle”.

Either luck or Jehsus, I mean Jesus, does look upon immigrants too!

Amazing! A friend’s sister was driving a volkswagen and fell asleep at the wheel, veering across the road and into and under an oncoming truck.

The volkswagen was completely totalled. She said she remembers hearing the rescue team saying there was no way anyone could have survived; she got out of it with a broken arm. Apparently, as she fell asleep, she’d slumped to the side - it saved her life.

She said the thing that stayed with her wasn’t so much the near miss ‘miracle’ of the event, but rather the guilt she felt about the driver of the truck. He kept visiting her in hosptial because he just couldn’t believe she was alive and had to reassure himself. He couldn’t stop crying.

She felt - still feels - incredible guilt for the suffering she caused him, because he was so devastated by the experience that she doubts he’ll ever feel comfortable driving again. Whereas having been unconscious for the worst of it (first from falling sleep and then knocked unconscious almost immediately after during the accident) she reckons her brain never really processed the driving=bad thing. She’s a very cautious driver now, but not a fearful one.

Back in highschool a girl I knew got a new car as a birthday present. I can’t remember the brand-- it was one of those little sporty-but-cheap models. Two days after she got it, she crashed into a tree at a super-high rate of speed. There was nothing left that was recognizably an automobile. It was just shreds of plastic and twisted hunks of metal.

She was stunned after the accident, but except for a bruise on her arm, completely unharmed. She was sitting in a ditch when the EMS team pulled up. She said she heard what they said when they got out of the ambulance and surveyed the damage, “Aw, shit. There’s a DOA around here somewhere.” She says they nearly jumped out of their shoes when she popped up out of the ditch and said, “Here I am.”

That was the most amazing car crash I’ve ever seen. It just goes to show that the physical forces of a crash are completely unpredictable. There are some people who can decimate a car and walk away while others will be killed by something that seems to cause only moderate damage.
