Neither mundane nor pointless, my boyfriend of almost 4 years and I tied the proverbial knot last weekend. Wooohooo!
AND! Because I knew you would all care about the dress/rings/etc, I took pictures for you. You’re welcome.
The handsome gent in the blue shirt walking me down the aisle is my dad, who some of you may remember was hospitalized and on a ventilator this past Christmas. I cannot tell you how overjoyed I was to have him walk beside me. He is truly one of my angels. He and his wife even bought me a new engraved jewelry box to replace the one stolen from our apartment a couple of weeks ago.
A glorious time was had by all and I even got to gamble, smoke and drink in my wedding dress (and a pair of sneakers). Viva Las Vegas, indeed.
Why thank you! The makeup was my doing, the hair was some overpriced (but very nice) stylist at a salon in the Rio.
Thank you! I can’t believe how great he looks. I couldn’t be more proud of him.
Thank you. The dress was pieced together by myself and my sister… and was a relatively cheap, but long and arduous process. I made the wreath more than a year ago (when we first got engaged) and then built the dress around it.
I also love my husbands eyebrows. Hah. They were the first thing about him that I fell in love with.
Do I know you? (or am I wearing that blasted name tag again!?)
I’d say that’s putting it mildly. I told my husband that if he wasn’t going to come downstairs and gamble with me that I’d smear my makeup, only wear one shoe and cry in between slot machine pulls. snerk He came with.
In fairness, I don’t normally look like that. I did tell my husband that I intend to have “Princess Day” once a month from now on… just so I can wear the dress again.
Thank you all for the well wishes and compliments on the dress. Seriously, you’d be surprised what a bit of ingenuity and the knowledge that you’re too fat to pull off white without looking like a giant snowman will do for you.
You name is on some of the picture titles and you also shared it in your post about being robbed. Still, I feel I was a bit presumptuous for having used it. Sorry.
You and your sister did a wonderful job on the dress. Green is my favorite color, especally in the olive range.
Your new hubby is a cutie. I hope you have many happy years together.
