That is your opinion. Other people may disagree, and clearly do. That is what happens in the real world.
Even in MIT.

Shit was not cash.
Yes, quite.
You mind your p’s and q’s here, sonny jim…
They don’t? It sure looks like they are.
Irritating my ass, I’m trying to run a fucking business here. You produce or you’re out.
Bad selling, indeed.
Why is there a whole thread about me? What did I do?
For Anonymous User:
At this point, I, for my part, am more irritated by the way you persist in asking how to get into MIT in the face of five pages of replies, all of which more or less say the same two things:
(1) No amount or type of exceptional academics or extracurriculars can guarantee admission to MIT (or any other top school), because far more truly exceptional students apply to MIT than MIT has slots for.
(2) If you are a good and motivated student, which you seem to be, you can do very well for yourself in life with an education from a wide range of colleges.
For other Dopers:
It’s clear he’s going to keep going on and on until he gets the answer he wants to hear, which will either be some praise about how amazing he is, or some straightforward formula which will guarantee admission to MIT.
At this point, why continue?
You started a reasonable thread about getting into college, and then started down on a privileged, self-pitying, narcissistic path which just got people mad at you. You presented yourself in a public place and people are judging you, which appears to be exactly what you want them to do when you say you’re an MIT graduate. But the only thing we have to judge you on up to now are your posts, and you’re behaving like an idiot.
Read what people are saying, think about it, and consider things before you write another post.
If you didn’t deserve to be pitted before, you certainly deserve to be pitted now. There’s a thread complaining about you and you want to know why? Maybe you could… read it?
From the other thread:
You know damn well why there’s a thread about you. You wanted to impress people, and you have. It’s not a good impression, but here you are.
Hey, Anonymous User! Look over there, it’s a big pile of money and admiration of others!
Ok, everyone… while he’s distracted. If that GQ thread goes on for another page, let’s just let the cat out of the bag and tell him the secret to getting into any university at all. Which is, of course, juggling and using the phrase “lorem ipsum” in the application essay.
Dude - spoilers!
Especially for the sensitivities of those of us who couldn’t juggle and had to go to clown college instead. Sad face.
What’s a “pitting” exactly? I’m fairly new to the Message Board so…
Strong language and abuse of other members is relegated to The BBQ Pit. “Pitting” someone is to create a thread in the Pit complaining about them.
I believe this is all in the forum rules stickies.
You jerk.
If he really is who he says he is, that is another reason to believe he’s probably not exactly MIT material anyway, knowhamean?
Can’t figure that out based on context? Definitely not MIT material…
There’s a mistake; he’s here for an argument.
I agree.
