I Pit bad e-commerce sites

I’ve been dealing with an online store lately, and they’ve really been pissing me off. They have the worst service I’ve seen since the underwear place.

Ah, the underwear place. What bad dreams are made of. I went to their site (via search engine) and bought 8 pairs of underwear. Two styles (which was all they had). $200. I waited for a month to get my package. When it didn’t arrive, I e-mailed them with a polite “Could you please tell me when my package will ship?” They answered back with something like “It’s only been a month. We’ll ship when we have the order ready. Please do not harass us further.” Fuckers. When I finally got the package, 2 or 3 weeks later, it wasn’t even right. One pair of undies was size S, for Og’s sake. And it was the crappiest underwear I have ever seen. No fly. Ill-fitting. Ugly. And $200 bucks for that. And now they have the nerve to send me catalogs and spam my inbox. Assholes.

Now this new place (a hobby store). I’ve submitted 3 orders with them now. Invariably, it goes like this: I click on the “Add to cart” button on items that say “In stock.” In the comments section I write “If any items are out of stock, please send what you have. Also, if you are out of blue wire, please send any color other than green.” Days go by. Weeks go by. Finally I get an e-mail that says “We are unable to fulfill your entire order. We are out of items 2808, 4637, and 2748. Would you like us to ship the in-stock items separately, or wait until the missing items come in?” Needless to say, item 2808 is the blue wire. What the fuck is the comments section for if they won’t fucking read it? So I reply “PLEASE send the in-stock items! And change the blue wire to yellow, red, brown, or chatreuse.”

As is usual, I get an answer back from them that says “Thank you for contacting us. We promise someone will answer you within 72 hours.” 72? 3 fargin’ days? How hard is it to fire back a reply that says “OK”? Eventually I get my order. Three weeks later. Most stuff is missing, of course. I never get the remainder.

I’m not sure when I placed my last order, but it must have been around mid-January. Part of it finally shipped on February 14th. Last night I finally cancelled the remainder of it. Let’s see if they acknowledge that in the next 72 hours.

At this point you’re probably saying “Just shop somewhere else.” I can’t. Not only are they the largest distributor in North America, as they claim, it seems they are the only distributor in North America. My only other choice is to order direct from Germany and pay outlandish shipping costs.

Rectal Fuckbombs.

Was it here? (You didn’t say what kind of hobby, so I took a stab at it). Despite it being a crappy company to work for, they’re really decent with their online stuff.

Otherwise, I understand what you’re saying completely. I had ordered a shirt for LilMiss online, hoping it would be a surprise for her birthday. I ordered it in early November, her birthday was early December. Well, it made for a great Valentine’s Day present.

Nope, this place specializes in trains. They are the closest store to me that ships them (that I could find). I live in MA. They are in BC.

…200 bucks for 8 pairs of underwear?! Wow…I can’t even fathom paying that kind of cash for drawers.

I’ve been lucky thus far with online ordering knocks on wood, but to be fair, I usually only order stuff from pretty big national companies like Newport News, Frederick’s of Hollywood, Amazon, etc.

In fact, I just ordered a bunch of shoes Frederick’s had on clearance a couple weeks ago, and they messed up one of the pairs of shoes I ordered. I ordered a black pair of 9 1/2s, and they sent me the style of shoe I ordered, but in pink and a full size too small.

Their customer service was great though. I just called em up Monday night and told them about the problem, and they overnighted the correct pair Tuesday, no charge. Just got em an hour or so ago.

It was a first – and a last – for me too. Boxers tend to be expensive, but $25 per pair is way too much. Especially for that quality. J. Crew has them (or once did) for half of that. Webundies.com sometimes has them for $5.99.
