What's the fastest you''ve ever received a package from online shopping?

Impatiently awaiting a car part from eBay, paid for the fastest option. Scheduled for tomorrow but it’s coming from a state really close so keeping fingers crossed I luck out and get it today.

What’s the shortest amount of time you’ve had to wait to receive a package

Bought an Ebay item late (after 5pm EST) on Friday, shipped UPS Ground from N. California to S. Florida. Received it early Monday afternoon!

Once bought something insanely cheap with free shipping from China and the estimated delivery time was approximately a month, but up to two months. I wasn’t in a hurry and it was mad cheap, so that was fine with me. Got it in S. Florida in less than a week!

We used credit card points to buy a blender in the afternoon and it showed up the next morning. It was kind of creepy.

I once bought a computer part from someone whose distribution center was at UPS Worldport, which let them take orders up to midnight or so for next-day delivery. From picking up the phone to getting the box was under 12 hours.

When I was living in California, I could often place orders with Amazon and receive them within 24 hours by free ground service.

I ordered a manual push mower that weighed 45lbs for $91 from newegg, with free shipping included, in California, on a Thursday, thinking it would take a week at least and FedEx delivered it that Saturday morning.

About 17 hours, from Zappos. Not special extra-cost shipping or anything.

I ordered something from Amazon, and got it the next day.
Of course, they have a huge warehouse in Phoenix…

I have received a few shipments from Amazon Prime in under 24 hours. Under 48 hours is usual.

I get things the next day, often less than 24 hours from placing the order, from both amazon and monoprice.

Lately, it seems that almost everything I order with free shipping, or the cheapest option, comes in 2 to 3 days anyways. I’ve stopped paying for overnight or 2nd day (unless it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight).

Can’t remember the fastest - but it’s less than 48 hrs on a ‘free shipping’ order.

I don’t live in a city either.

Zappos is magical. I ordered some Levis at work in the early afternoon and it was at my house the next day when I got home. I don’t know for sure when it was actually delivered but it was less than 24 hours.

In the early days of Amazon I often got packages over night even when I didn’t pay the premium. In one case the package and the e-mail telling me it shipped came on the same day. At some point either the volume of their business increasing (or, according to the cynic in me, possibly the introduction of Amazon Prime) stopped all that. I resisted Prime for a long time because even with the free shipping option I was getting packages pretty fast until I wasn’t.

I once ordered something from Amazon Prime early in the morning and the package was at my apartment when I came home from work that day. One day is more typical “good service”, though.

My wife has had the same thing happen with Zappos. It’s like they were waiting just down the street for her order.

I bought something on EBay years ago and emailed my address immediately, then did PayPal. When I got home from work that day (3 hours later) it was in our mailbox. There was a note from the seller, asking if I realized we lived in the same town. I did not.

ETA: that is, the seller put the item in my mailbox herself.

This. Amazon Prime can be downright spooky. From what I’ve read, they’ve got my item off the shelves and headed to shipping by the time I click the “Buy” button.

I have Amazon Prime, so most everything is 2 days later, but occasionally, I’ll order something that they or their vendors have on hand in a local warehouse, and the stars align on the shipping, and I’ve ordered in the late afternoon and got the item the following morning.

Far more common is ordering something from a company that’s about 15 miles away from my house, and it takes weeks to get the item (WOOT! I’m looking at you…).

Adagio Teas is located in northern New Jersey and I used to live in downstate New York. I could place my order with their website and have it arrive the next day via regular shipping.

I remember as a kid waiting 6 - 8 freaking weeks for something to arrive by mail. Then opening the box and realizing it was crap compared to the ad.

I’ve had items arrive in two days from both Amazon and eBay. They weren’t all necessarily big-ticket items, either, and I didn’t pay for priority shipping.
