That much we can agree on unequivocally.
Mr.stretch sleep eats, too, but hasn’t had much weight gain because the rest of the time his appetite is shot. We sometimes have quite the laugh putting together what mr.stretch’s midnight snack was…definitely PB&J, maybe ice cream, did you eat all the grandbaby’s pudding again?!?
So far nothing seems to work for stopping his nighttime wanderings. The doctors were concerned enough about the issue that we had to disable the guns and I had to hide the ammo; they are concerned that he might doing other things in his sleep besides eat.
A family member has bipolar and yeah, it is horrid to treat and to deal with. whe now has a fantastic psychopharmacologist to artistically balance the meds. This is one of the advantages of being close to NYC. It’s taken years to approach a relatively even keel, sufficient to be able to make use of the services of a therapist. Even so, she still gets days or weeks when things are not in synch sufficiently to attend classes or enjoy life. It seems to me as if it’s like trying to walk on the blade of a knife, with the spiral of depression on one side and the spiral of mania on the other; both of which are destructive in different ways. The meds seem to widen the blade.
Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll feel better about it tomorrow.
Kidding. All joking aside, I hope things get better for you. Mental illness does indeed suck. The world is fucked up enough without our view of it being thrown sideways by our own brains.
While neither pointless nor mundane, I think this thread has gone and will continue to go in a direction of commiseration and the sharing of personal experiences, and thus be best suited for MPSIMS.
Hey!
No, that’s a good one, kind of like if you don’t like the weather in Ohio, just wait a couple of hours…
