Bolding mine.
So just to be clear, you are only pro-life in the case of unborn children. Once born killing people is OK?

Look, I don’t post here much despite having lurked on the boards since the Collunsbury and Satan days, but I’m extremely vexed that people keep quickly abandoning the ‘state-sponsored rape’ aspect of this thread so quickly.
How can supporters of this legislation live with forced TVUs? That is some hardcore Mutaween-level shit right there.
Evidently you don’t read much, either.
I deduce this, Watson, because earlier in the thread it was made clear that the Wisconsin law at issue specifically mandates the choice of ultrasound transducers – that is, it does not constitute forced TVUs.
That’s some hardcore ignorance right there, eh?
Which is specific to Wisconsin, yes? Such forced procedures have been proposed and pressed forward in other locales, yes? Mostly if not exclusively by Republicans, yes?
We likely have a difference of opinion as to why that is. You might very well believe that no such effort was ever made, nor even considered, due to the long standing Republican distaste for government interference. I’m inclined to think its because they figured they wouldn’t get away with it.
So you’d like to Pit Gov. Scott Walker for things that were proposed as law in other states by people other than him?
Its always helpful to have someone on hand who is expert in the proprieties and customs of the Pit, so errant posters can be rebuked and corrected. Was that an offsides or out-of-bounds?
Scott Walker isn’t a scumbag, Scott Walker is a weeping pustule on the rectum of a scumbag. If he were to awake tomorrow convinced that a platform of state-sponsored abortions free to all citizens was his ticket straight to the Oval Office, you would see a reversal of public opinion not seen since Saul of Tarsus fell off his ass.
I hold you to be sincerely wrong, and that is worth a bit in comparison to an opportunistic poltroon like him. If we were down home, I would advise that you scrape the Scott Walker off your boots before you come in off the porch, as Mamma is very particular about her carpets.
However, be assured that my regard for your corrections on precise Pit behavior remains undiminished.
So… yes, you would.
It avoids the otherwise plausible inquiry into whether the defendant should avoid a homicide charge because the mother didn’t want the fetus anyway. I don’t think anyone wants to see a criminal trial where the propensity of the mother of a foetal “victim” to have abortions is at issue. The other alternative seems to be treating the foetus as though it doesn’t exist at all.
Very well might, if I could find some common thread that unites them all in some way. Like if they were all Republicans, for instance.
I take it that you agree with my assessment of Gov. Walker’s character and opportunistic approach to politics? Or would you rather talk about something else? Perhaps a snide reference to Obamacare would illustrate your firm commitment to remaining strictly on topic and mindful of the proper context of a Pitting? Have you already done your liberal hypocrisy shtick today, or is it still a mite early?
Good grief, I could post fifty times per day highlighting liberal hypocrisy and not scratch the surface.
I don’t agree with your assessment of Walker, no. Nor do I agree that a thread purportedly Pitting Walker for his signing of the ultrasound bill is the best venue to assign him blame for other ultrasound bills passed in other states, even if the proponents of those bills were also Republican.
Oh, so he forthrightly spoke in opposition to such laws? Didn’t hear about that, do let me know.
And laws designed to harass, intimidate, humiliate and misinform women seeking entirely legal medical procedures, they are all hunky-dory so long as no actual insertion is performed?
Hunky dory =/= what the thread title says.
I’m okay with Walker being the poster boy and whipping boy for all like-minded misogynists.
Of course you realize this will disqualify you for the Bricker Good Pit Citizenship Award?
Typical liberal lack of concern for things like “facts.”
Ah, Bricker… you’re so predictable.
This is rather amusing, coming from a member of the Legislate-From-the-Bible-Party.
Yes, god forbid that a thread evolved from a specific instance of dickish behavior into one about the dickish behavior in general. Are you suggesting that we start a spearate thread for each instance of ultrasound legislation? That would seem pretty redundant to me, but whatever floats your boat.
To be fair, it’s not right to blame Scott Walker for raping women, he just belongs to a party that rapes women and instead all he wants to do is attempt to emotionally manipulate them or shame them. As much as I hate Bricker, he’s in the right here. Let’s keep the “Republicans are rapists” criticism a general one, or targeting specific people who are doing specific things.
For what it’s worth, women in Virginia are more likely to support the TVU law than men. women are 44% in favor, men only 38%. which is what I would have expected, but seems to surprise some people.
I don’t know if mandatory TVU laws are effective, but I don’t see the problem with them in principle. If you don’t want to have one, then you don’t need to choose to have an elective abortion.
